Flower Posy Trifold Shutter Card Tutorial

Happy Saturday!

I've got a tutorial on a Trifold shutter card today. It was featured on the Fiskarettes UK FB page on Monday.

I know lots of people use dies for different styles of cards but I don't have a lot of dies nor a large die cutting machine. To be honest, I enjoy working from templates! This is the template I used which my husband transferred on the computer from my handwritten notes (he has his uses!):

Once cut out and folded, it should look like this:

I matt and layered the card using the Trimcraft First Edition Pretty Posy papers which co-ordinate so well with each other.

I made flowers using the Fiskars Large Flower Power Punch and the Eglantine Small Lever Punch and then just pinched them to give them a 3D shape:

I added a stamped sentiment, ribbon, gems and leaves to finish the card:

I was so pleased when another Fiskarettes UK member made a card using my tutorial and sent me a photo - it made my day! Thank you Veronica.

Products used:
Trimcraft First Edition Perfect Posy pad
Fiskars Medium Flower Power Punch
Fiskars Small Eglantine Lever Punch
Trimcraft Floral Muse Sentiment
Versamagic Chalk Ink
Everything else from my stash

  8. What a lovely card Shabneez, thanks for the tutorial, I've not used a template to make a card blank before, can I ask a daft question... Do you cut the template first or score it then cut or does it make no difference? Thanks in advance :) Debs x

    1. Thank you so much Debs. It's not a daft question at all. For ease I've used an A4 sheet as opposed to a 12x12 sheet and it worked fine. I scored first then cut but it really doesn't matter. I've done both ways and it works. Hope to be able to comment on your creation if you have a go! Shabneez xxx
