Floral Stamped Cards With And Without Colour - CrafTangles DT

Happy Thursday!

What a week it's been - lots and lots of papercrafting going on with very tight deadlines.  I've really enjoyed it and even though I have more work to complete I took a break to finish off these floral cards that I coloured in last week.

I find colouring therapeutic.  I need time to colour - it's something that can't be rushed for me.  So in this post I've picked a couple of the latest floral stamp sets from CrafTangles.

For my first card I used my Zig Clean Color Brush Pens on watercolour card.  The tulips are just gorgeous aren't they?  Roll on Spring!

Next up I used the same stamp set but no colouring.  I just felt the stamp was so detailed and gave such a crisp image that it didn't require any colour.

Instead I masked off the image and used my distress inks to create a colourful background with some spatters of water for added effect!

For my final card,  I opted for kraft card which lends itself so well to coloured pencils.

I love my Chameleon pencils as they have just the right consistency so you can control your shading  easily.  A couple of stitched die cuts finished the card.  You can find more detailed information on how I made these cards on the CrafTangles blog HERE.

I'm afraid I won't be blogging my usual Friday post tomorrow but I'll be back next week!

Lots of Colour! - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

How's your week been?  Did you get any snow? We had a sprinkling but that's it and I'm pleased about it although it certainly has been very chilly!

Over on the Daring Cardmakers Ruth has decided to banish the blues and set a challenge to add as much colour as possible to cards this week.  Now I love the concept of colourful as you know and for me a multitude of colours usually means rainbow colours.  That's exactly what I went for in the shape of the Dovecraft Back to Basics Over The Rainbow paper pad.  It's my current go to paper pad......

I used a sheet of paper from the pad for the circle background and added a navy frame.  I then stuck washi tape from the same collection to the top and bottom.  I used my trusty Fiskars heart punch to add a couple of hearts to the stamped sentiment strip in the middle.

Well, that's it for me today.  I've a rather long journey to make to get back home as I've been away for the last couple of days.  I'm certainly looking forward going back home and the weekend.

Enjoy your weekend whatever you do!

Glitter Fairies! - CrafTangles DT

Happy Weekend!

I did warn you I'd be back today and here I am!  I'm up on the CrafTangles blog today with their new Fairies stamp set.  I've never owned a fairy stamp before so this was a novelty and with fairies so on trend at the moment I couldn't wait to have a play!

For my first card I stamped the fairy, coloured her with Chameleon pens and fussy cut her out.  I added just a line of stickles to her wings and a little to her dress.  I used a beautiful shaded glitter paper and used another of my sale die purchases to make the background.  The sentiment is from the stamp set.

Next up, those of you that follow me on social media may have seen this fairy star on my FB and instagram page after I'd finished colouring her with Chameleon pens and adding stickles to her wings.  I also stamped, coloured and fussy cut the toadstool before adhering to my papers and adding an apt sentiment I'd had in my stash but never used as I didn't have any fairies!

Finally it's the turn of my purple haired fairy.  I just love her outfit!  I made her in the same way as her friends and this time made a sky themed setting.  Her wings have stickles all over and the sentiment is from the same stamp set.

So there we have it - fairies with a sprinkling of glitter!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend whatever you do,

Just Stamping - Daring Cardmakers Challenge

Happy Friday!

I've had a very productive week which makes me happy.  Unfortunately, I'm not ahead of myself which I would have liked even more but neither am I behind!   I guess you can't have it all and I should be grateful I've ticked off so much on my to do lists.

The Daring Cardmakers challenge was chosen by Dawn this week, who wants to see only stamping on our cards.  I found this really difficult as I love to stamp and have no issues with it, but rarely do I use stamps by themselves.  My creations are usually combined with embellishments and die cuts.

I ended up using a pre loved Lawn Fawn stamp set and made my first Valentine!  I'm in love with the Catherine Pooler inks as the colours are so vibrant and make any card pop!  I stamped the banana in yellow all over randomly after I added a circle mask so I had space for my sentiment.  I added hearts stamped in red.  I finished with the sentiment in black and a red banner for the Happy Valentine's Day.  A fun card for a change!

I hope you'll join in with the challenge HERE and also see lots more inspiration for my fellow DT members.

I'll be back tomorrow with a fairy post so hope you'll pop in and see me again.  Thank you for your comments - they're all read and appreciated.

January Elemental Challenge - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

How has your week been?  It's all slowly getting back to normal my end with the boys back at school.  Lots of interesting craft projects have come my way so I'm in my element!

The Daring Cardmakers are back starting with the January Elemental Challenge.  I decided to make a baby card using a wreath die set I bought in the January sales.  I'd had my eye on it for some time as I could see myself thinking up different uses for it.  This time I added a sleeping teddy decoupage to it - isn't it cute?

Below is the board that Sylvia has chosen.  You pick any 3 elements to use on your your card so I chose colours, the texture from the knitting for which I used an embossing folder and the teddy bear.  I actually had an issue deciding what to choose as there are so many interesting elements.  Of course having so many possibilities means the DT has come up with lots of inspiration and you can see it all HERE.  I hope you'll join in as we'd love to see your creations!

Have a wonderful weekend and see you again next week,

CrafTangles January Challenge Inspiration - Countryside Paper Pad

Happy New Year!

My first blog post of the year and I'm showcasing a stunning paper pad called Countryside by CrafTangles.  I just love the beautiful colours and designs, don't you?

I've used a selection of the papers and added a few elements as they need so little in my opinion.

For my first card I've added a die cut border, doily and a wooden sentiment to a couple of the papers from the pad.

For my next card, I cut out rectangles from one of the sheets of paper and added a dark brown backing.  On one of them I stamped a sentiment and I stuck them on in a random fashion.  I just love that leaf backing paper.

For my final card, I matt and layered a selection of card and paper finishing with an oval aperture.  I added a fussy cut element, some twine and a sentiment to finish.

This post is inspiration for the first of CrafTangles Monthly Challenges and you can find more information on it HERE.  The theme for this month has been kept simple with 'Anything Goes' so I hope you'll join in!

I hope you have a great weekend and see you again soon,
