Layer It Up! - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

It's been a very exciting week for me with lots of amazing crafty adventures on the horizon.  I also received some crafty packages in the post together with a very thoughtful card from a fellow crafty friend.

Today I'm hosting the Daring Cardmaker Challenge and I've chosen the theme to be 'Layer It Up!'.  I've used paper layers on my card with an additional layer of wire!

I used items from a couple of my craft packages received namely the die set and the WRMK Happy Jig.  I often buy used items as you can pick up some good bargains and both these certainly were!  This card is centred around the love birds.  I googled what love birds look like and used the bright colours to layer up the die cuts.

It only took me about 5 minutes to shape the word 'love' on the Happy Jig - it was much easier than I had anticipated.  I definitely think it's a tool I'll be using often and one I recommend for sure.

Lots more wonderful inspiration can be found HERE together with the link to join in with this week's challenge.  I can't wait to see your creations!

We have guests for dinner this weekend so it'll be a busy but enjoyable one once I decide what to cook that is!  I always finding deciding what to cook the most difficult.

Have a great weekend!

Cheer Someone Up - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

I really love the theme for this week's Daring Cardmakers Challenge entitled 'Cheer Someone Up'.  Personally, if I want to cheer someone up I will support them and tell them how amazing they are which leads me nicely on to my card!

As opposed to saying you are all amazing I think you are all Mermazing!!  I had so much fun creating this card and in particular the background.  I went all out with my bright colours and used a stencil to create the bubbles.

I coloured in the images with my Chameleon pens and added glitter to the main elements.

Lots more inspiration from the rest of the Design Team HERE and I hope you'll join in and send the card you make once you share it to someone as a surprise!

Have a lovely weekend,
Shabneez

Something New! - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

How's your week been? I've had a very productive one regardless of the stormy weather.  I'm getting back in the swing of the school runs even with the increase in after school clubs!

I'm sharing my take on the Daring Cardmakers Challenge which this week is entitled 'Something New'.  I've used a new stamp and die set to make a new home card.  Do you reckon I'll get extra points?!!!

I must admit I really enjoyed making this card and getting back into the colouring was great.  I've done a lot of colouring this week.  I used my Chameleon pens to colour in the stamped images and made a stencilled background then die cut the frames and images before sticking them on.

You can see a lot more inspiration HERE which I'm sure will inspire you to join in as I do love to see what others come up with.

I'm looking forward to catching up with family this weekend.  Hope you have a good one whatever you do!

See you next week,
Shabneez

Feeling Blue - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy New Year!

How are you? It feels like such a long time since I last blogged but a lot has happened since my last post.  December was manic with work commitments and commissions then as soon as the school holidays began we went on a much needed family break to Rome.  It was absolutely wonderful - fabulous weather, delicious food and stunning historical sites.

The boys are back to school now and I only started crafting again earlier this week.  In fact this is the first card I've made this year!  Being the beginning of a new month it's the elemental challenge on the Daring Cardmakers and it's entitled 'Feeling Blue' and is paying homage to the 2020 Panetone Colour of the Year.

I chose my Zig Clean Color Pens to colour my flower and it was just so relaxing.  I do miss colouring when I haven't done it for a while.  I used a stencil with distress inks for my background and added a sentiment to finish.  A simple one to start the year I think!

Here is the image from which you need to choose at least 3 elements.  I chose the flower, colours and tile style background.

You can find lots more inspiration from my fellow DT members HERE.  Hope you'll join in!

Have a great weekend and see you again soon!
