In order to be eligible for a prize you must visit all the blogs above and leave a comment.  CrafTangles will choose 2 winners who will each get a goody bag!  It is open worldwide.

The theme of this month's blog hop is Foils and we've all used them in different ways.

For my first card after stamping the image and colouring in with pencils I decided to die cut the sentiment and punch out the hearts from a sheet of foil that I had adhered to some card with a double sided adhesive sheet.

For my next card I used the stunning rainbow foil for both a background and also for die cutting the lettering.

Finally I paper pieced using foil.  I hadn't seen it done before so thought I'd have a go and it worked!

I hope these have inspired you have a go at using foils.  All you need is double sided tape or an adhesive double sided sheet.

Good Luck with the Blog Hop!

Happy Wedding - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

Yet another glorious day.  My youngest has gone on a school trip so I was up early making sure his sun cream was liberally applied and he had his hat, water bottle and all the other necessities needed for a day trip.  It's heartwarming to see the enthusiasm with which he set off this morning and I hope he has a wonderful day.

Over on the Daring Cardmakers Ruth has a Wedding and Anniversary card theme going on for the latest challenge.  I actually need to make wedding cards as I have a few to attend over the summer.  However, with the mad week I've had I had half an hour this morning to make this card and photograph it before the 10am deadline when the blog goes live - oooops!

Luckily I had an idea in my head which always helps in times like this.  I recently bought a pre loved wedding themed stamp set from Lawn Fawn which was on my table waiting to be used.  I already had a pre cut frame die so this saved me time too.  I stamped the images I wanted and coloured them with my Zig pens then mat and layered the card.  I had some foiled card from another project I have been working on so punched out the hearts and added them as embellishments.

I'm back tomorrow with a blog hop so hope you'll pop by again!

1 Stencil 3 Ways - CrafTangles DT

Happy Monday!

How was your weekend?  I certainly heard a lot of cheers from the neighbourhood on Sunday afternoon when England scored all those goals!

I'm up on the CraftTangles blog HERE with cards using the CrafTangles Rainbows and Clouds stencil.

As you can see I've managed to create cards using limited supplies - stencils, distress inks and card!

For this first card I went all out using the largest rainbow on the stencil with distress inks.  I then sprayed on water and left to dry.  For the stars I used distress oxides as I prefered the chalky effect they gave.  I finished with a sentiment.

Next up I used a soft grey for the clouds and the raindrops stencil to create a border.

For the final card I actually had a little girl in mind who I'm sure will love this card.  I used the smaller of the two rainbows on the stencil and added clouds and stars before matting and layering.

Stencils don't have to be used just for backgrounds - they can just as easily be used as focal points for cards as well.

See you again later on this week,

What A Wonderful World - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

Hasn't the weather been glorious?  Think there's a heatwave forecast for next week as well......summer has finally arrived!

A new challenge over on the Daring Cardmakers has been set by our Kathy and she has chosen the lyrics of 'What A Wonderful World' as it's close to her heart.  You can choose to incorporate all of it or parts of it and of course as it mentioned rainbows I was ecstatic!

I had this idea in my head of using my stitched dies to make a rainbow and I think it works don't you?  Just an addition of some glittery clouds, sun and and gems to finish.  The sentiment is a stamp from an old issue of Quick Cards Made Easy.

So, there you have it.  Lots more inspiration on the Daring Cardmakers Blog HERE and I hope you'll join in as there's so much to choose from in this challenge.

Birthdays parties and a charity drop in are on my agenda this weekend.  Hope you have a good one whatever you get up to!

See you again soon,

Anything But White - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

Joanne has chosen the challenge this week and it's to use 'anything but white' on your card background.  I didn't have any trouble with this one as I often use different coloured backgrounds for my cards.  Plus you know I love my colours!

As time was short I decided to emboss my background.  It's funny how sometimes you forget to use items or techniques.  I admit to not using an embossing folder for a couple of months at least.

The unicorn stickers were given to me some time ago and had been sitting on my desk waiting to be used so this card was actually based around using the unicorns!

There's some really inspirational cards made by my fellow DT members HERE and I do hope you'll join in with the challenge.

I'm very much looking forward to this weekend as we will be celebrating the festival of Eid that follows the month of fasting.  We get together with family, the children get gifts and we enjoy a meal or two together.

I hope you have a good weekend whatever you do.

Let's Go Tropical! - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

Not sure about tropical weather today which I could certainly do with as it's Sports Day for the boys today!  As I type I can see the grey clouds but hopefully they will pass...... I do enjoy watching the boys and their friends and cheering them on!

On with the Daring Cardmakers challenge which I set this week and I have requested anything tropical.  I'm talking about bright, bold colours and prints. Tropical, fruit, flowers, birds and animals can all feature.  I think you get my drift!

I've had such a lot of fun with my creation as the theme is one very dear to my heart being one who loves bright and beautiful!  I went all out using monstera leaves that are typically found in the jungle together with some tropical flowers and the Aloha sentiment.  Most of the dies are by Trimcraft.  My favourite has to be the pineapple which I'm sure you 'll agree is the star of the card - a favourite Trimcraft die of mine!

I do hope you'll check out the rest of the inspiration over on the Daring Cardmakers blog HERE and I look forward to seeing your creations!

Have a wonderful weekend,
Shabneez
