In A Teacup - Daring Cardmakers DT Challenge

Happy Friday!

It's been a mad week full of meetings and to round it off it's Sports Day today so I'm off to cheer the boys on!

The challenge set this week by Leo is to use a teacup and fill it with something different.  I didn't have anything teacup related in my stash so I used a free SVG that I cut with my Cricut for the base card.  I decorated it with Sweet Nothings paper and lace.

I punched out butterflies and heat embossed the wings on the pink butterflies before adding pearls to the centres and a sentiment.

There are some wonderful inspirational cards by my fellow DT members over on the Daring Cardmakers Blog.  I hope you'll find time to visit over the long weekend and join in!

Have a great Bank Holiday Weekend!

Two's Company - Daring Cardmakers DT Challenge

Happy Friday!

The Daring Cardmakers Challenge is set by Sharon this week and you have to use 2 colours - including the card base!  I decided to do something I do quite often to colour card, and that is to use chalk inks.  They colour smooth card so well and they were one of the first items I bought when I began crafting.  For this week's Challenge I used the ink to colour the base card, to stamp the sentiment and to highlight the edges of the punched flowers.

For the little flowers, I used the Fiskars Eglantine punch and after shaping the flowers I added liquid pearls in the centres and a little glitter glue - I could't resist a subtle hint of glitter!

I must admit I really enjoyed this Challenge, as I hadn't really worked with just 2 colours before.  I love colourful makes but it just shows you really don't need a multitude of colours to come up with a creation.  You'll find a lot more inspiration HERE on the Daring Cardmakers blog and I hope you'll join in!

Enjoy your weekend,

All That Glitters Is Not Gold! - Daring Cardmakers Challenge DT

Happy Friday!

I'm all excited as it's the first time I set a challenge on the Daring Cardmakers!  Of course, it wouldn't be a challenge for me unless it had had some bling and sparkle in it would it?  So, I went with a glitter theme - use as much as you can and make it sparkle!

I decided to make an unconventional wedding card.  I recently bought a new Dovecraft sentiment stamp that I was itching to use so I heat embossed it in black glitter embossing powder to begin with.

I used glitter washi tape in different colours and widths and die cut flowers from glitter card, using my beloved Fiskars heart punch for the black glitter hearts.

It's been a glorious couple of days weather wise and although it's wet and miserable today at least it's not cold.  I, on the other hand, have been suffering with a cold - thank goodness for the cold and flu pills!

Hope you'll join in with the challenge HERE and have a wonderful weekend!

Angie's Digital Stamps Design Team - Challenge 9 (May 2017)

Happy Monday!

Yes, it's not Friday and I'm blogging - caught you out didn't I?!

A bit of a special blog post to share as I am now a member of Angie's Digital Stamps Design Team :)  The monthly Challenge begins today here on Angie's Digital Stamps Blog where the theme is Anything Goes.

My inspirational make is with one of Angie's Digital images which I've coloured using pencils on to Kraft card.  I love the soft effect it gives and I've used Sizzix Stitiched dies to frame the image.  I heat embossed the Dovecraft sentiment and faux stitched around it.

The Challenge runs for a month ending the last Friday of the month so you've got plenty of time to join in.

I hope you have a great week ahead!

May Elemental Challenge - Daring Cardmakers

Happy Friday!

The first Friday of the month means an elemental challenge over on the Daring Cardmakers.  My inks and heat embossing are making an appearance again for this one! I made a background using the distress inks and die cut the butterfly.  The butterfly came with a thinlit which I cut and used to to place over the the inked butterfly like a stencil.  I then used the versamark on it and heat embossed it.  I love the sparkly effect you get with the Tonic Nuvo Glitter Embossing power.

I'm going to personalise the card for my son's classmate whose party is tomorrow.  Well, who doesn't love a glittery butterfly?!  I'm sure she'll love it!

Below is the the fabulous mood board Joanne chose.  I love the colours and all the different elements.  You have to choose at least 3 of the elements for the challenge.  I chose the pattern from the socks (embossing folder), the colours and the butterfly.

There's lots more inspiration from the DT members HERE so I hope you'll join in!

Enjoy the weekend,
