December Elemental - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy December!

It's the first Friday of the month so time for the elemental challenge over on the Daring Cardmakers.  Today I am sharing a Christmas card I made for a client to give to his wife.

I made a rocker card using a very old Kanban die set and this card is a good size - fits into a 7" square envelope.  The gnome elements are from the Christmas Gnomes Pop Up Card Kit by Katy Sue Designs.

This is the mood board from which you choose any 3 elements, colours count as 1.  I used the christmas tree, gnome and snowy background.  You can see more from the rest of the Design Team and join in HERE.

It's been freezing this week and I've had to scrape the frost off the car in the mornings again which I haven't missed at all!

Today I'm sharing a song themed card for the Daring Cardmakers latest Christmas challenge.

I used the Festive Furry Fun collection from Katy Sue Designs.  It has such a cute image of carol singers on it and I love all the gold foiling.  I added a bow to finish.

Sparkle (Crafty Christmas 2024 - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Monday!

I'm playing catch up at the moment as this post was supposed to go out on Friday but I didn't manage it so here it is today!

The latest Daring Cardmakers Challenge has a sparkle theme to it and I did enjoy making this card very much.

I used the Glad Tidings Christmas collection from Tonic Studios with the addition of leaves and candy cane from one of their other collections that were on my desk.

Fancy some Christmas card inspiration?  Well, you're in for a treat as the Daring Cardmakers have a whole host of Christmas themed challenges leading up to Christmas.  This is the second one and has the word prompt BIRD so you can choose anything with a Christmas theme that has a bird.

I have chosen a pretty decoupage set from Katy Sue Designs.  Most Christmas themed pictures have robins so it was good to see a different bird for a change!

Make It Shake! - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

I absolutely loved making this card and I felt it was perfect for an 18 Year old with the mix of sweet treats and flowers!

The card is for the latest Daring Cardmakers challenge which I set and involves using an element on your card that moves!

I ended up making a shaker card and added really pretty flower sequins to the 18.

I used a mix of products from different companies.

Butterflies & Bees - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

There's been a lot going on this summer so my blog posts haven't been as regular.  We had break in Suffolk exploring with family and were so lucky with the weather too.  My eldest passed his GCSEs so celebrated that and now getting uniforms etc ready for when school starts again next week.

I have set the challenge for the Daring Cardmakers giving a nod to the butterflies and bees this summer.  

I've used a mix of different companies and collections for this card and I really enjoy doing this.  You can see the butterfly and a die cut bee too.

August Elemental - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

Back to normal this week after spending a week with my Mum which was lovely.  The boys and I had a wonderful day trip to Windsor on Monday as well.

As it's the first Friday of the month it is the elemental challenge over on the Daring Cardmakers.

I used A Touch of Blush collection from Katy Sue Designs to make this card and I used the bird cage, butterfly and flowers from the photo below.

It had to be a blue sky for me as it makes me happy and luckily we've been having quite a lot of it lately!

June Elemental - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

It's been a while since I joined in with the Daring Cardmakers and today is the June elemental challenge.  As Father's Day is coming up, I thought I'd make a card for it.

I used the Tonic Studios Marvellous Mosaic & Hexagons Die Set to create the base and the hexagonal cut outs.  It's such a versatile die set.  I used the Love To Craft High Tide paper pad for all the images.

I stamped the sentiment on another of the hexagons to finish.

Let's Hear It For The Boys - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

What a morning - feels like I have been up forever already!  Thought I'd get a quick Sainsburys shop after the school run only to find you have to use the self serve machines as although there were many staff nobody on the tills! This meant it took a lot longer as I had done a big shop.  Will remember in future and stick to my online ones!

Today it is my turn on the Daring Cardmakers and I set a masculine themed challenge with Father's Day so near.

I made a fancy fold card using a very old paper pad from Docrafts that I bought preloved many, many years ago.  There are so few masculine themed papers so I keep and go back to the ones I have.

Round and Round - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

Well now, would you believe it's taken me 2 days to make this card?  I was shocked too!  The mojo had gone walk abouts and to be fair with the boys last week at home and Eid, I was out and about a lot too.

The Daring Cardmakers have a round theme this week and here is my card.  I do love a circular card.

I used one of the new Love to Craft paper pads from DRK Crafts and an old but gold Sizzix alphabet set.  There are some dies and stamps that no matter how old they get they still get a great deal of use.

April Elemental Challenge - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

It's the last Friday of the month of Ramadhan (fasting) for us and next week we will celebrate Eid.  I'll go and see my Mum and also pay a visit to the cemetery to see my Dad.  I've missed him a lot this month.

As it's the first Friday of the month it is the elemental challenge over on the Daring Cardmakers.  

This card was a commission and it has been one of my favourites this year.  It was made using a very old collection from Dovecraft.  It's also a new fancy fold for me and I used a new sentiment set.

This is the image from which you need to take any 3 elements - colours count as 1.  I used the lips, the slats and the blurry background parts for my card.

Spring Is In The Air - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

It's been a hectic few days with the start of Ramadhan, the Islamic month of fasting.  I am really looking forward to the Easter holidays as it'll make things a lot easier having us all home.

The Daring Cardmakers has a Spring themed challenge this week as it is certainly in the air.  Having said that, I put my washing out yesterday as the sun was out and half an hour later it began raining!  Rain wasn't forecast until 6pm.

I used an older collection from Katy Sue Designs for my card as it's so pretty and has various florals and butterflies on it depicting Spring.

Just Sew - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

It's turned out to be a productive week after a lull in activity at the beginning.  I managed to get deadlines met and Mother's Day orders completed too!

The Daring Cardmakers have a sewing themed challenge this week and I had the most perfect papers for this one!  DRK Crafts have got a new range of paper pads and I used the ' Cute as a Button' one for this card.  

The card style is called a fractured card and one I have been seeing on my Facebook feed so decided to give it a go.  It works so well to show off papers and use up scraps too.

The sentiment is from a new Tonic Studios set called Creative Pastimes and has some very useful sentiments on it.

Whatever The Weather - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

Back to school for the boys so I've been attempting to catch up on the piles of laundry and mountains of ironing from half term!  We went stay with Mum and then my youngest celebrated his birthday at the weekend.

The Daring Cardmakers have a great weather themed challenge this week and I loved making this card for a little girl.

I used a mix of elements - the sentiment is one of my most used from Tonic Studios and the elements are all leftovers from a Spellbinders Kit.

I created my own background to help the elements pop a little more.

I'm a bit late posting my card for the Daring Cardmakers cake themed challenge this week.  It's been one of those weeks and with half term looming it's always a race to get deadlines met.

This card didn't come easy!  Took me forever to put it together but it was worth it!  It's actually for my son who loves cakes so the challenge helped me create something for him.  I loved putting the cupcakes together with the glitter and ink!

Happy February!

The first Friday of the month can only mean one thing - the elemental challenge over on the Daring Cardmakers.

I'm still in Valentine's mode so I decided to make a love themed card.

I used the First Edition Oh So Sweet paper pad for my backing, cut out some hearts and added die cut doughnuts and wording.

That's All White Then - Daring Cardmakers DT

I wasn't going to make a card for this challenge but don't tell the others on the DT (Ha!).  However, guilt got the better of me and I have joined in with the theme which is basically go as white as you dare!

I needed a masculine Valentine's Day card so I didn't go totally white but added a few elements of blue with the die cut hearts and stamping.  I think it works quite well, don't you?

Floral Frenzy - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

It feels like a long time since I did one of my Friday posts!  A very frosty start to the day, in fact it's been freezing here all week but thankfully no snow.

I have set the challenge for the Daring Cardmakers this week to use florals of any sort on your cards - the more the merrier!  

I used a floral Hunkydory set for my Anniversary card, made a fancy fold and added some pearls to finish.
