A Walk On The Wildside - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

It's been a lovely week on the weather front and I've got heaps of washing done and dried outside in no time!  Just the ironing left now........

Another great challenge on the Daring Cardmakers this week with a walk on the wildside.  I had just the perfect stamp set in mind and I teamed it with papers that fit the challenge too!

My stamped images were coloured with my Chameleon pens and then die cut.  I made the central frame using a new nesting die set and went for a shaker card as I've not made one in a long time.

Initially I wasn't sure on mixing the patterned papers from the Dovecraft Finding Paradise Pad but the idea grew on me as I experimented with different combinations and I think it works.  What's more I will do it again!

You can see lots more inspiration from the Design Team HERE and I hope you'll join in.

Have a wonderful weekend - my plan is to get some gardening done!

3 Cards in 30 Minutes Using CrafTangles Stencils

Happy Monday!

The weekend went so fast and here we are again ready for another week!  My time is often quite limited and yet I often have a few personal cards to make so I challenged myself to make 3 cards in 30 minutes.  I used CrafTangles stamps, stencils and Tim Holtz Distress Inks.

I chose 3 stencils and stuck them all on a sheet of A3 watercolour paper before adding distress inks and spritzing with water.

While the backgrounds were drying I cut out my card bases from CrafTangles cardstock but you can use a heat gun to speed up the drying process.

For my first card I cut our a square from the background and adhered it onto the card base, adding a band with a heat embossed sentiment and sequins to finish.

With the next background, I fussy cut it and stuck half on to my card base before heat embossing a sentiment and adding faux gems to embellish.

For my final  card, I used a stitched border to cut out the background before adhering it on to the card base.  I stamped a sentiment and added bakers twine to finish.

I hope this post has inspired you to pick up your stencils next time you want to make a quick batch of cards.  There is a more in depth post over on the CrafTangles blog HERE.

See you again soon!

Using CrafTangles Sequins on Cards

Happy Thursday!

I'm on the CrafTangles blog today with a couple of cards using their extensive range of sequins.  You'll find more detailed information on my makes over on their blog HERE,

For my first card, I used a new really cute CrafTangles stamp set and hearts stencil.  The sequins formed the puddles being as they were the right colour!

For my second card, I made a spin on a classic gap card by filling the gap with sequins.  I actually had one of my sons helping to die cut the circles for me and I did say I would give him a mention on my blog post, it's cheaper than paying him - haha!

I'd better get cracking as I've got another blog post to prepare for tomorrow, no child labour involved this time!

Baby Girl Makes for CrafTangles DT

Happy Tuesday!

We've had a wonderful time celebrating Eid with family.  I'm back at work, fully caffeinated, as we had a rather large detour on the way back home last night due to junction closures on the M1.  We didn't get home until the early hours of this morning but it was worth it!

Today, I'd like to share a couple of projects I made for the CrafTangles DT.

The first is a shaker easel card made using the CrafTangles Baby Girl paper pad and not a lot else!  I love cutting out of paper pads and I fussy cut the sentiment banner and the image in the shaker topper from the pad.

I made the little stoppers from another of the papers and added glossy accents to give them an enamel look and strengthen them,

For my second make I decided on a rocker card, again showcasing the papers and using them to make a scallop topper.

I added a floating sentiment backed with acetate together with paper roses, pearls and hearts to embellish.

I loved making these, just need some babies to give them to now!  There's more details of how I made these on the CrafTangles blog HERE.

I hope to see you again on Friday!
