November Elemental Challenge - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy November!

It's been a really tough week emotionally.  You know the saying 'it doesn't rain put pour'? Well sadly that's how it's been but I have faith that things can only get better.

Anyhow, enough with the doom and gloom, the November elemental challenge has begun over on the Daring Cardmakers and it's enough to put a smile on anyone's face!

For my card, I've used a Couture Creations die set to create a wintery scene together with the Darice Glitter Prints, and to finish a Craftwork Cards sentiment.  I must admit gap cards are a favourite of mine as you can do so much with them!

This is the image from which you need to pick any 3 or more elements.  I've chosen the word 'SNOW', the colours and the scene.  What will you use?  I'd love to see and you can join in HERE.

I will be demonstrating Christmas crafts using the new Trimcraft collections at The Range in Romford this Sunday and I'll be in Harlow next week.  Hope you can join me!

Have a wonderful weekend,
Shabneez

Flourish - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

Have you noticed I've been missing the past couple of Fridays?  Well I have been!!!  I've had a lot on and I was kindly excused.  For this week's challenge, Kathy has asked for a flourish to be added to our creations.

I've used a Marianne Design die set and double cut the butterfly to give it a more of a 3D effect.

Above, you can see more clearly that the flourish I've added is made up of faux pearls.  They're self adhesive which makes it a lot easier and you get a few in the pack as well.  There is a lot more inspiration over on the Daring Cardmakers blog HERE and we can't wait to see what you come up with!

I have a weekend off from my Trimcraft demos this weekend but I'm back again next week and here's my schedule for October:
7 October - The Range Romford
14 October - The Range Enfield
21 October - The Range Thurrock

See you next week!

July Elemental Challenge - Daring Cardmakers

Happy Friday!

How's your week been?  I've had a productive week with the highlight being Prize Giving and Meet the Teacher at school.  The boys break up next week so not long to go now..........

As it's the first Friday of the month it's time for the elemental challenge over on the Daring Cardmakers.

I had a hard time with this one.  I loved the colours and the elements but couldn't decide what to use.  It took an entire afternoon to put this together.  I must have over thought it! Ha!

I began by choosing a floral paper from my stash then I made a pleated border.  I fancied a bow and I don't own any so I traced round a template.  To finish I added a sentiment with a splash of pink.

This is the image from which I have chosen 3 elements:

I chose the slatted panel which I made into pleats, the beautiful colours and the flowers that are on my backing paper.  There is a lot of inspiration on the Daring Cardmakers Blog HERE and I hope you'll join in.

See you again on Sunday!

Angie's Digital Stamp Challenge DT - Challenge 13 (September 2017)

Happy Tuesday!

I spent last weekend with my parents as it coincided with another celebration of Eid.  We got back late last night so I'm on a mission to get 101 things completed before school starts tomorrow (wish me luck as I'll definitely need it!).  The September challenge has begun over on Angie's Digital Stamps HERE with an anything goes theme.  I've gone cute this time, choosing a cat image.

I used my Zig pens to colour in and I'm really pleased with the outcome as you can see the mottled fur effect.  I used a selection of Dovecraft papers for the backing and buttons to embellish.

I better sign off and start on that list on or I won't get everything done!  I hope you'll join in with the Challenge.

Have a great week,
Shabneez

In A Teacup - Daring Cardmakers DT Challenge

Happy Friday!

It's been a mad week full of meetings and to round it off it's Sports Day today so I'm off to cheer the boys on!

The challenge set this week by Leo is to use a teacup and fill it with something different.  I didn't have anything teacup related in my stash so I used a free SVG that I cut with my Cricut for the base card.  I decorated it with Sweet Nothings paper and lace.

I punched out butterflies and heat embossed the wings on the pink butterflies before adding pearls to the centres and a sentiment.

There are some wonderful inspirational cards by my fellow DT members over on the Daring Cardmakers Blog.  I hope you'll find time to visit over the long weekend and join in!

Have a great Bank Holiday Weekend!

May Elemental Challenge - Daring Cardmakers

Happy Friday!

The first Friday of the month means an elemental challenge over on the Daring Cardmakers.  My inks and heat embossing are making an appearance again for this one! I made a background using the distress inks and die cut the butterfly.  The butterfly came with a thinlit which I cut and used to to place over the the inked butterfly like a stencil.  I then used the versamark on it and heat embossed it.  I love the sparkly effect you get with the Tonic Nuvo Glitter Embossing power.

I'm going to personalise the card for my son's classmate whose party is tomorrow.  Well, who doesn't love a glittery butterfly?!  I'm sure she'll love it!

Below is the the fabulous mood board Joanne chose.  I love the colours and all the different elements.  You have to choose at least 3 of the elements for the challenge.  I chose the pattern from the socks (embossing folder), the colours and the butterfly.

There's lots more inspiration from the DT members HERE so I hope you'll join in!

Enjoy the weekend,
Shabneez
