Flourish - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

Have you noticed I've been missing the past couple of Fridays?  Well I have been!!!  I've had a lot on and I was kindly excused.  For this week's challenge, Kathy has asked for a flourish to be added to our creations.

I've used a Marianne Design die set and double cut the butterfly to give it a more of a 3D effect.

Above, you can see more clearly that the flourish I've added is made up of faux pearls.  They're self adhesive which makes it a lot easier and you get a few in the pack as well.  There is a lot more inspiration over on the Daring Cardmakers blog HERE and we can't wait to see what you come up with!

I have a weekend off from my Trimcraft demos this weekend but I'm back again next week and here's my schedule for October:
7 October - The Range Romford
14 October - The Range Enfield
21 October - The Range Thurrock

See you next week!

Upcycled Badge Tutorial - CrafTangles DT

Happy Weekend!

How's your weekend been so far?  I'll be taking a break from nursing today (both boys have been ill, one after the other) and you can find me at The Range in Luton from 11am today demonstrating the new Trimcraft Christmas ranges.

I decided to have a go at something a little different today.  I was asked to make a badge for a little girl who loves pandas and so I decided to use my CrafTangles products along with an image from the internet to upcycle a badge!

I have got a step by step tutorial over on the CrafTangles blog here if you are interested in how I made it.  You can find it HERE.

You'll be pleased to know the little girl who I made the badge for loved it and wore it to school on her birthday after I personalised it further so it looked like this:

See you again soon!

Bring on the Cake! - CrafTangles DT

Happy Weekend!

I'm up on the CrafTangles blog HERE today with some new release stamp sets to show you!

These stamps were a lot of fun to work with.  For my first card I just loved the 'bring on the cake' sentiment, so much so, I've entitled my blog post with it!!!

I used chalk ink for the background stamping of the sentiment and used my Chameleon Pens for the main image.  I fussy cut the birthday boy and added a strip of washi tape to the bottom.  Simple but effective I think!

For my next card I stamped and coloured the main image then used a banner die cut to cut it out.

I used chalk ink around the die cut image just to soften it.  Then I stamped the sentiment and stuck the base on to my card base before adding glitter washi tape banners around the edges.  To finish I added glitter enamel dots.

For my final card I stamped, coloured and fussy cut the image.

I used a rectangular die cut and stamped the sentiment inside.  I added washi tape along the top and bottom of my card before attaching the die cut and then the image.

Have a lovely weekend!

September Elemental Challenge - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy September!

Well the boys are back at school and it's so quiet in the house now.  However I do admit that I can get a lot more work done in their absence as much as I miss them.  Thankfully they've both settled back really well and if they're happy so am I :)

Being the first Friday in September means it's the Elemental Challenge over on the Daring Cardmakers.  I have chosen the board this time and you will see that it has a lot of summer elements on it as I really can't let go of summer - not just yet!

For my card I used a cacti die set and created the background with distress inks.  I mounted it on to a blue background and drew white waves with a gel pen to copy one of the elements below.  I added a die cut word to finish.

This is the Elemental Board I've chosen and I'm sure you can see where the inspiration from my card came from using the cactus, flowers, waves and colours.  You only need to use 3 elements so I hope you'll join in.  You'll find more inspiration from my DT colleagues can be found HERE.

I have a Trimcraft Demo on Sunday at The Range in Maidstone so if you are local please come in to say hello and see the latest products and ideas I have to share.

Have a great weekend!
