Showering You With Love - Tonic Studios Launch

Happy Thursday!

Today I'm sharing the launch of the Showering You With Love Die Set which can be used as a decorative piece or a gift box.  My affiliate links with thanks:

UK: HERE

USA: HERE

This is such a beautiful die set and makes the most wonderful creations!

My first creation was one I created for a baby shower - I think the colour gives away the gender and as I have 2 boys so opted for blue!  I added ink to the edges of my flowers and Nuvo drops to the centres.

For my next creation I made a happy gift box full of chocolate!  I used the Spring Has Sprung paper pad for this as I love the bright colours and used those colours as inspiration for the flowers inside the umbrella.

See you again soon,

Hello Friend - Tonic Studios Craft Kit Launch

Happy Tuesday!

As it's the 20th of the month it's time for the reveal of the latest monthly Craft Kit from Tonic Studios.  Here are my affiliate links at no cost to you, with thanks:

UK and Europe - HERE

USA - HERE

A very feminine and floral Kit this month from Tonic Studios.  The elements are perfect for friendship themed cards or even Mother's Day which is just around the corner.

For my first card I opted to use the spotlight technique and I have a reel on my instagram showing how I made this card using this technique.  I added a heat embossed sentiment to the die cut 'friend' from the Kit and Nuvo Dream drops to finish.

For my next card I made a fancy fold card and used cardstock strips to make a background before adding one of the die cut panels from the Kit and a sentiment.

Finally for my last card I used the Nuvo Glimmer Paste from the Kit.  I die cut one one of the panels making it into a stencil.  With the spatula from the Kit, I spread the paste through it.  I added a die cut sentiment from the Kit to finish.

I hope you enjoyed looking at my creations using the contents of this month's Kit.

See you again later in the week,

Happy Thursday!

There's a brand new Showcase Die Set which has just launched by Tonic Studios.  It is the Eternity Vase Die Set and you can make not 1 but 3 variations from the same set!

Here are my affiliate links if you'd like to use them at no cost to yourself:

http://shrsl.com/3se16 - USA

For my first creation I made an octagonal vase which is a really good size.  For this I used the latest Coral Skies collection to make it with as the colours are just so pretty!

For my second creation I made a vase with four sides.  I added a couple of decorative elements from another set.  The only one I haven't shown is the hexagonal one but it is similar to the octagonal one only smaller.

Creature Comforts - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

It's always hard juggling school holidays with work.  I like to make sure we have enough time to go out and see family and friends while keeping on top of my work deadlines.

Creature comforts is the theme for this week's Daring Cardmakers challenge and it's a cute one!

I have a lot of birthdays to make cards for in the winter so this challenge got me thinking of ideas.  I decided to go for a slimline card.  All my images were coloured in with my Chameleon pens and cut out.  The background is a mix of papers and paint splats and I stamped 'Happy Winter Birthday' in the middle to finish.

You can see inspiration from the rest of the Design Team HERE together with more information and links for you to join in.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Got Your Number - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

I think all the running around has caught up with me as I'm under the weather with a cold.  Hopefully a rest on Sunday will help get me back on track again though.

Ruth has set the challenge on the Daring Cardmakers this week and she wants to see numbers on your cards as both her children celebrate birthdays this month.

I decided to go for a masculine card this time and used paper piecing with a die to create this:

In fact it's all dies on this other than the cardstock.  A fun card to make!

You can see lots more inspiration from my fellow DT members HERE and I hope you'll join in with this fun challenge.

Have a great weekend!

Wedding Season - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

The summer holidays have begun and it's wonderful not having to schedule my day around school runs!  I must tell you about my very emotional week though.  It is my eldest son's last year at his Primary School and this week saw me watching his last Sports Day and attending a wonderful Leavers Assembly where I shed some tears (but don't tell anyone!).  He is sad to leave his friends as he is going to a different school to them but he will of course keep in touch.  He is very excited to start Senior School in September.

On with what I'm supposed to be blogging about and that is the latest challenge over on the Daring Cardmakers which is wedding themed.  Surprisingly I haven't had to make a wedding card this year so far.  However, I did have a commission for a special anniversary card earlier in the week which will be winging its way to Hong Kong so I thought I'd share that!

I predominantly used an old Hunkydory kit I had in my stash that I won for having my card published in a magazine many years ago.  Of course, I couldn't make an anniversary card without using hearts so I used a mix of punched and die cut ones.

You can see a lot more inspiration from the Design Team HERE and I hope you'll join in!

I've another busy weekend - a presentation tomorrow morning for the boys and a family lunch to prepare for on Sunday.

I hope you have a great weekend whatever you do,

Using Stencils to Create Christmas Card Toppers - CrafTangles DT

Happy Weekend!

I'm so very glad the weekend is here although I'm actually teaching for most of the day today.  I'm up on the CrafTangles blog with a post on making your own Christmas toppers for cards.

I had a bit of a production line going and to begin with I die cut some shapes and made all the toppers using images from a stencil together with distress inks.

For all the cards I used the Trimcraft First Edition Jolly Holidays papers as backgrounds.  It's definitely one of my favourite paper pads this winter.

So for my first card I gave the Christmas tree and ombre effect and added washi tape, lime green card and a sentiment to finish.

For my next card I used the fun candy cane image and created 3 toppers adding a sentiment to finish.

My final card uses the deer image which I inked in milled lavender and weathered wood distress inks.  I really liked the subtle effect it gave to the topper.

I finished off with a sentiment and co-ordinating papers.

There's more of an in depth tutorial HERE if you want to know more about how I created these cards.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend and hopefully see you next week!

Flourish - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

Have you noticed I've been missing the past couple of Fridays?  Well I have been!!!  I've had a lot on and I was kindly excused.  For this week's challenge, Kathy has asked for a flourish to be added to our creations.

I've used a Marianne Design die set and double cut the butterfly to give it a more of a 3D effect.

Above, you can see more clearly that the flourish I've added is made up of faux pearls.  They're self adhesive which makes it a lot easier and you get a few in the pack as well.  There is a lot more inspiration over on the Daring Cardmakers blog HERE and we can't wait to see what you come up with!

I have a weekend off from my Trimcraft demos this weekend but I'm back again next week and here's my schedule for October:
7 October - The Range Romford
14 October - The Range Enfield
21 October - The Range Thurrock

See you next week!

Let's Go Nautical! - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

It seems so strange missing my weekly blog post - I didn't realise how regular I'd become with my blogging.  I have been having some well deserved family time as my brother and family were visiting from America.  We've had so much fun and made a lot of memories but I miss them a great deal.

Being as we shared some fun times by the sea I decided to opt for a nautical theme for the Daring Cardmakers challenge this week.  The Design Team have made a wonderful variety of creations which you can see HERE.

For my card, I decided to use up parts of a pack from a cardmaking magazine I got a long time ago.  It's something I kept thinking I'd use it but never got round to it.  I do love a good sentiment and this one was perfect for the recipient.  I based my card around it, building it up as I went along with various die cut elements.

I hope you'll join in with the Challenge and see you again soon!

Colourful Paper Flowers - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

I thought I'd bring some colour to my blog post today as it's wet and miserable outside.  Dawn has chosen the challenge this week for the Daring Cardmakers.  She'd like to see paper flowers on your projects.  You can see lots more floral inspiration by my fellow team mates HERE.

I used pre die cut flowers that I got in a pack a long time ago with crafting material for the boys.  I picked a colourful array of flowers and assembled them on a background then added a little foliage and gems to embellish.

It just goes to show you don't necessarily need lots on a card and clean and simple can be just as effective, especially if you're pushed for time.

Once again my intention is to take it easy this weekend although I do have a mountain of ironing to get through and other household chores that don't do themselves.  I'm sure some of  you can relate to that!

Enjoy your weekend and see you again soon,
Shabneez

Step Away From The Cards - Tags, Labels & Toppers - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

I had to take a photo in the rain yesterday - first time for everything I suppose!  It was so dark and dismal inside that I just couldn't get enough light.  If you look closely enough you can see the water droplets!

So, the Daring Cardmakers are stepping away from the cards once more and have been working on tags, labels and toppers.  You can see lots of inspiration HERE.

I've fallen in love with Christmas Puddings.  They're very popular at the moment and I just think they're really rather cute.  However, the love story ends there as I don't like eating them - I'd much rather have a mince pie!

I thought I'd have a go at making my own as I didn't have any relevant dies or stamps.  I used a circle die to cut the pudding out of corrugated card then die cut a partial circle from a wavy die for the top.

I added felt holly leaves and wooden painted berries on the top.  I used various papers from the First Edition Merry Little Christmas pad and added washi tape and ribbon to embellish.

It's a fun challenge so I hope you'll join in.

All being well, I hope to see you again next week!
