Happy Friday!
A hot off the press creation to share today. I'd done the stamping on Wednesday but smudged the ink as I couldn't wait and as I was at work yesterday I had to start all over again this morning!
Natty has set the challenge over on the Daring Cardmakers today and she's asked for masking of some sort.
I quite like the use of a stamp and die set to mask an image. You basically use the die cut as a mask and then lift it off and stamp the image in it's place after you've created your background. In my case I stamped lots of 'Bams' then added some distress ink to make the superhero pop a little.
I very rarely do one layer stamping but I think with the masking of the image it doesn't look so flat. I may do more of these as my youngest has many birthday party invites..........
Right, I had better get on as I have a number of projects to complete along with a backlog of washing. Oh and the dishwasher is being fixed today - Hooray!!!!!
Have a wonderful weekend!

It worked out really well Shabneez - despite the smudgy mishap. Personally, I've have just stuck something else on to cover the smudge, but I'm lazier than you, obviously! hahaha
ReplyDeleteA fun card for a young male, I should try masking more often!

what a fun super hero card for kids. Lovely colors
ReplyDeleteFabulous card Shabneez, I know lots of little boys who'd love this (I may have to borrow the design if you don't mind). I am always smudging my stamping, one reason I hardly ever do any. Cathy x
ReplyDeleteWow, I never would have guessed your hero was stamped directly on the card, the way you've inked around him makes it look like he is on dimensional foam or something. A really good way to make "flat" cards for posting that still have that extra pop! :D
ReplyDeleteGreat card and fun design
ReplyDeleteCards for boys can be so difficult, but you've really nailed it with this one! Great fun card.
ReplyDeleteA fabulously fun card Shabneez and a great masking technique. A super stamped image and sentiments, perfect for those little heroes xx
ReplyDeleteI do love this little chap, fab card Shabneez, don't forget to make it wobble ;) Hugs - Debs xxx
