Bingo - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

The Easter holidays are in full swing and despite the odd shower here and there we've happily been making the most of it.  In fact we're off on a day out today complete with picnic so hope the rain stays away!

Dawn has set a great challenge over on the Daring Cardmakers this week.  Her Mum recently celebrated a big birthday and she loves Bingo so she made up a Cardmaking Bingo Board.

Below you'll see the Bingo Board and you have to use any 3 elements from a line or use everything for a full house!  Isn't it fun?!
I went for the far left column and used sequins, stamping and made a clean and simple card.

For my creation, I used a favourite Time for Tea Designs stamp set together with the co-ordinating stencil set.  I used distress oxides through the stencil in a couple of colours and added silver sequins.  It took me longer deciding and placing the sequins than it did making the rest of the card!  Mad isn't it?!

The mermaid was coloured in using Chameleon pens and colour tops to blend the colours.  I actually made the card for my niece who celebrates her birthday later this month.

I do hope you'll join in with the challenge and you can see plenty of inspiration from my team mates HERE.

Have a wonderful weekend - we have a birthday party to go to so it should be a fun one for us!

Using the CrafTangles Happily Ever After Stamp 3 Ways

Happy Thursday!

I'm up on the CrafTangles blog today showcasing a favourite floral stamp of mine - Happily Ever After.

For me this post is about showing how using different colouring mediums can tranform a stamp set.  So to begin, I stamped the image in sepia and coloured in using my Chameleon pens and Colour tops.

I just love how the intricacy of the stamp shows up so well on this card.

Next, I had a play with the CrafTangles liquid water colours which are very vibrant and a joy to use.  I was really lazy and just put spots on my glass mat then mixed water in with a brush.

I did a wash with diluted water colour for the background and used a frame die which sets the image off.

Finally, I used kraft card and heat embossed the image in white.  I used my Chameleon pencils to colour in the flowers.

I kept all the cards simple so that the focal point remained the stamped image.  You can find a more detailed write up on how I made the cards on the CrafTangles blog HERE.

All being well I'll see you again tomorrow!

CrafTangles February Challenge Inspiration - Just You & Me

Happy Tuesday!

Have you had a good start to the week?  I've been very productive so far and I'm hoping it'll continue as I really want a day off in the week to meet up with a friend.  It's rather an exciting day as my eldest is going to the O2 Arena tonight with his school to take part in the Young Voices 2019 which should be really good.

The CrafTangles February Challenge has begun and it's theme is 'Love is in the Air'.  For my inspirational post I used the the CrafTangles Just You & Me stamp set and the Chit Chat Stencil.

I coloured the main characters on the stamp set using my Chameleon Pens and Colour Tops.  Don't you think they make a cute couple?!

I have to admit the stencil is a favourite of mine as it is so quirky and fun.  I created an ombre effect through the stencil for the background using my distress inks.  There is a full tutorial over on the CrafTangles blog HERE with further information on the challenge HERE.

Hope to see you again soon!

Glitter Fairies! - CrafTangles DT

Happy Weekend!

I did warn you I'd be back today and here I am!  I'm up on the CrafTangles blog today with their new Fairies stamp set.  I've never owned a fairy stamp before so this was a novelty and with fairies so on trend at the moment I couldn't wait to have a play!

For my first card I stamped the fairy, coloured her with Chameleon pens and fussy cut her out.  I added just a line of stickles to her wings and a little to her dress.  I used a beautiful shaded glitter paper and used another of my sale die purchases to make the background.  The sentiment is from the stamp set.

Next up, those of you that follow me on social media may have seen this fairy star on my FB and instagram page after I'd finished colouring her with Chameleon pens and adding stickles to her wings.  I also stamped, coloured and fussy cut the toadstool before adhering to my papers and adding an apt sentiment I'd had in my stash but never used as I didn't have any fairies!

Finally it's the turn of my purple haired fairy.  I just love her outfit!  I made her in the same way as her friends and this time made a sky themed setting.  Her wings have stickles all over and the sentiment is from the same stamp set.

So there we have it - fairies with a sprinkling of glitter!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend whatever you do,
