May Elemental Challenge - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

Are you looking forward to the Coronation Weekend?  It kind of slipped my mind when I was planning this week's inspiration so there is not a crown in sight I'm afraid! My youngest has gone into school wearing red, white and blue!

When I was making this card it was sunny so once again, I went a little tropical and chose bright vibrant colours for my images.

I die cut a frame and used distress ink to add colour and some water to give it some texture.

Here is the picture that you can take inspiration from and pick 3 elements or more - colours count as one.  I used the colours, fruits and blue background on mine.  You can see more inspiration from the rest of the Design Team HERE.

Have a great long weekend and see you next week!

Creature Comforts - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

It's always hard juggling school holidays with work.  I like to make sure we have enough time to go out and see family and friends while keeping on top of my work deadlines.

Creature comforts is the theme for this week's Daring Cardmakers challenge and it's a cute one!

I have a lot of birthdays to make cards for in the winter so this challenge got me thinking of ideas.  I decided to go for a slimline card.  All my images were coloured in with my Chameleon pens and cut out.  The background is a mix of papers and paint splats and I stamped 'Happy Winter Birthday' in the middle to finish.

You can see inspiration from the rest of the Design Team HERE together with more information and links for you to join in.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Into The Woods - Daring Cardmakers DT

It's Friday!

The extremely sad news about Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II is still sinking in.  She will be missed.  May she rest in peace.

The weather is certainly turning autumnal and the garden is getting the rain it so desperately needs.  The latest challenge over on the Daring Cardmakers is veering towards the change in seasons - Into The Woods.

I used non traditional forest colours for my creation as I wanted something bright and colourful.  I used my Chameleon pens to colour in the wreath before die cutting it out and adding glitter card for the number and along the sides.

You can join in with the challenge and see more inspiration from the rest of the Design Team HERE.

Have a good weekend,

Halloween Inspired - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

Week two of half term has come to an end but the plus point is it's not long until the Christmas holidays!  We've had fun catching up with family this week.

As it's Halloween on Sunday the challenge on the Daring Cardmakers is Halloween inspired.  I was rather happy about this as it gave me an opportunity to make a Halloween card which I love making but have nobody to send to!

It all began with a die cut frame with a tree in black to which I added a background made using distress oxide inks through a stencil.

All the images were stamped, coloured with my Chameleon pens and then added to the background to complete the fun scene.

You can see lots more inspiration HERE from the rest of the DT and I hope to see you join in.  Remember it doesn't have to be a Halloween card - just inspired by it so the colours, a black cat, pumpkin etc.

See you again next week,

Wear It Pink - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

One week of half term gone already and thankfully another to go.  We've been out and about - a river boat trip and some sightseeing in London coupled with a film at the cinema.

The Daring Cardmakers have informed me it is Breast Cancer Awareness month and today is 'Wear It Pink Day'.  So the challenge this week is to feature a pink outfit on your card.

I decided to give my cavewoman a pink dress especially for the challenge this week.  All the images were stamped and coloured with my Chameleon pens then I fussy cut them out.  I added some colour to the backgrounds with distress oxide inks.

It's a fun card from me this week - it certainly put a smile on the face of the recipient!

See you again next week,

Oak Leaves - Trinity Stamps Brand Ambassador

Happy Weekend!

The boys finished school yesterday and are now on half term which I am very pleased about!  We're hoping to have some days out.

Before I forget I must share the second of my Trinity Stamp cards.  I have shifted from maple to oak leaves on this creation!

As soon as I saw this die I really wanted to make a shaker with it so I did!  I filled it with a stunning Topaz Twinkle Rhinestone mix and they really catch the light and sparkle.

I thought I'd add some more autumnal elements to the card so I used the Nutty Squirrel stamp and die set.  I coloured in my images using my Chameleon pens and die cut them out then stuck them on my card together with a fitting sentiment from the same set!

I hope you enjoy your weekend,

Oh The Romance - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

It's been a while since my last blog post but I made the most of the last of the summer holidays.  In fact we spent a wonderful few days in Somerset with my brother and family who came over from America - first time since Covid hit.

The Daring Cardmakers have a romance themed challenge this week and I didn't need an excuse to pull out the hearts!

This was a simple romantic scene that I had in my head where the bear giving the gift didn't know what to take so he ended up with armfuls of both flowers and chocolates!  The images were stamped and coloured with my Chameleon pens and the background was made using a die.

You can see more from the rest of the Design Team HERE and I hope that you will join in.

Very Superstitious - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

I've done a lot of gardening and cooking this week!  I think we need to grow more vegetables next year so I've been investigating.

This week is a fun challenge over on the Daring Cardmakers and it's all to do with superstitions.  I must admit I am not superstitious in the slightest but had fun using different superstitions on my card.

To begin with I stamped and coloured in a black cat (bad luck) which is holding an umbrella (bad luck if opened indoors).  Next I die cut the number 13 (unlucky for some) and used some green both with the paper pad and the umbrella colour as it is also deemed unlucky.

I added mirri card for the number 13 as breaking a mirror is 7 years bad luck so incorporated that too as well as the number 13.  Lots of superstitions covered I think!

You can see lots more inspiration on the blog HERE and I hope you'll join in.

Go Bananas! - Heffy Doodle Fan Hop 2021

Happy Monday!

A late post from me as I'm away and promised I wouldn't go on my laptop until the boys are in bed!  We're having a great time having visited a beautiful Japanese garden and managed to see Jungle Cruise at the cinema too.

I am taking part in a Heffy Doodle Fan Hop with a number of others on Instagram where you can win a number of prizes.  It finishes on 7 August and should you wish to check it out my instagram account can be found HERE.

I thought I would use one of my favourite Heffy Doodle stamp sets for my card - those monkeys are just so cheeky!  I used a die to cut out the apertures in the background and ink blended with distress oxide inks before adding some white paint.

The images were all coloured in with my Chameleon pens and I die cut tropical leaves and used my distress oxide inks to colour them in.

See you again on Friday!

Into The Garden - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

I hope you've all had a good week.  I never did get around to doing the garden last weekend so it's on the list for this week weather permitting!  Speaking of the garden, that's the theme for the Daring Cardmakers latest challenge.

I think as my mind was on jobs to do in the garden I went for an alternative spin as my gnomes are working hard in their garden.  I created this fun scene using dies and papers for the backgrounds.

The images were all coloured using my chameleon pens and fussy cut.  The sentiment really made me smile.

You can see more from the DT HERE and I do hope you join in.

Enjoy the weekend!

Just Checking - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

We've had very welcome rain for the past couple of days and the garden looks so  fresh plus I've been able to sleep at night so I may look the same!  I intend to mow the lawn if it's dry enough this weekend and the roses need pruning.

The Daring Cardmakers have a check themed challenge this week and it gave me an opportunity to use some goodies I hadn't yet opened.

I used a check paper for the background and a rainbow one inside my topper, both from the Time for Tea Designs Brighter Days paper pad.  I really like the bright colours and bold prints.

My images are all from the Tearrific Pals stamp set and I coloured them in with my Chameleon pens before fussy cutting them out and arranging on my card front.

You can see lots more inspiration from the rest of the DT HERE and I hope that you'll join in this week!

Up The Flag Pole! - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

I'm a little late to the party this week as I am up to my eyes in work.  I can barely see over my desk but I love what I do!!!!  The Daring Cardmakers have a flag themed challenge this week.  Basically you need to take inspiration from a flag that is not from your country.

I will be honest in that I was a little stressed about this challenge but once I got the idea planted in my head by a crafty friend I was away!  I absolutely loved creating the background with my gelli plate and hopefully you can tell by the stars and stripes that I took inspiration from the American flag.

I coloured in my image using my Chameleon pens and added washi tape both as a background for my sentiment and as an embellishment.

You can see more inspiration from my fellow DT HERE and I hope you'll have some fun with us and join in.

I've another work orientated weekend trying to catch up after half term.  I think it'll ease a little after next week is over - at least I hope so!

Have a great weekend and hope the sun shines!

You're Mermazing - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

It's been a good week and I think the highlight was watching my youngest son play cricket against another school for the first time yesterday afternoon.  The weather was perfect and the boys were so excited to be able to play after so long.

The Daring Cardmakers have a mermaid themed challenge this week and I loved creating my card.

It had been some time since I did any colouring with my Chameleon pens and Color Tops and I had missed it a great deal.  I find colouring very therapeutic and get lost in it.

I used distress oxide ink pads and water to make the background using the smooshing technique and a stitched frame to finish.

You can see more inspiration HERE from the rest of the DT and I hope that you will join in.

Enjoy your weekend!

Birthday Beavers - Time for Tea Designs DT

Happy Wednesday!

Today is the my final blog post for Time for Tea Designs as my term is up.  I've had a lot of fun on the Design Team and enjoyed showcasing my creations using the products both on social media and Create & Craft.

My final card is one I have made for my eldest son who will turn 13 in a couple of days.  I've used my favourite Dream Big die as it's such a great sentiment.

I created a fun scene of the beavers by the river bank overlooking the mountains and used my Chameleon pens to colour in the images.   Final chance to get 10% off anything in store with my code T4TSHABNEEZ10.

Hopefully my son will like his card.  He wants to revamp his bedroom as a present so I've said once we are able we will go to IKEA for some inspiration.

Enjoy the sunshine and see you on Friday!

Say It Loud - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

I have a man down today - a cold but he seems to be suffering so a bit of rest and TLC and he'll be fine for Monday hopefully!

This week the Daring Cardmakers would like to see you use words as your focal point - the bolder the better!  I used one of my favourite birthday dies on my card and used the negative to make a shaker.

The background was one I had in my stash.  It was a mop up from another project I had done and I thought it worked really well with this simple underwater scene.

The little turtle is just so cute and I coloured him up with my chameleon pens and added a party hat from the same set.  To finish I added a speech bubble with a fun sentiment.

You can see lots more inspiration from my fellow DT HERE and I hope you'll join in.

I hope you have a lovely weekend and see you next week,

Birthday Bees Card - Time For Tea Designs DT

Happy Wednesday!

It's so funny as it feels like the boys have only just begun school and they finish next Wednesday for Easter!

Today I'm sharing a card perfect for this time of year with seeing a lot of bees in my garden.  In fact I had a huge one in the bedroom the other day but it was only looking to go back out so I opened the window wide for it to continue its journey.

I loved making this card, especially colouring all the elements with my Chameleon pens.  The background was made using the Beehive stencil with my Distress Oxide inks on a die cut sheet of card.

As ever you can get 10% off anything in the Time for Tea Designs store using my code T4TSHABNEEZ10.

I Can Bearly Wait To See You - Time For Tea Designs DT

Happy Wednesday!

I administered my first home COVID test yesterday for my eldest son.  He's had 3 in school since they went back and they taught him how to do it so it wasn't too bad.  We have to do 2 tests a week and register results with the NHS and the school.  I'm so pleased they have this in place.

I'm hoping things go to plan and we are allowed to see family soon.  In the meantime as I had loved ones on my mind I created this card.

I used dies to create the grass, rainbow and 'Hello' sentiment and added a cute bear which I coloured with my Chameleon pens.

The sentiment at the bottom is from the same bear stamp set and I heat embossed it in white on black card.  I think it's a cheerful card, don't you?

Hope the rest of your week goes well and I'll see you on Friday,

Fairy Garden - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

The weather certainly showed signs of Spring this week and I hope it continues.  It meant we enjoyed going walking and the sunshine always cheers me up.

This week's Daring Cardmakers Challenge has a fairy tale theme to it.  I associate fairies with fairy tales as they are make believe so I created a fairy garden.

I decided to make a rocker card and in my head the wreath die was like a floral arch in the garden.  All the images are coloured in using my Chameleon pens.

You can see lots more wonderful inspiration from the rest of the DT HERE and I hope you will join in.

Double Stencil Baby Card - Time for Tea Designs DT

Happy Wednesday!

Mid week already so can't be bad.  We've had notification the boys will definitely be returning to school on 8 March and they are both pleased - one more than the other as he will miss my lunches!

I'm sharing a baby card I made using a stamp and couple of stencils.  I really enjoy coming up with different ways to use or combine stencils.

I've used a die circle for the base and began by using my blender brushes and distress inks through the starry heart stencil.  I then masked the heart and used the scene it stencil to form the cloud background.

The little critter from the Occasional Critters Stamp set is just adorable isn't he?  I added some stars from the same set to make his little blanket even more cosy. In fact it reminds me of the baby blanket my youngest had.  Such wonderful memories!

The image was stamped then coloured with my Chameleon pens and I added a little glitter glue to the cloud to make it sparkle.

The blender brushes I used along with the very useful brush caddy are currently on offer at Time for Tea Designs and you can get an additional 10% off using my code T4TSHABNEEZ10.

See you again on Friday!

Share The Love - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

Almost Valentine's Day and I promised I'd share another love themed card today so here it is!  This one is for the Daring Cardmakers latest challenge - Share The Love.

I've stamped and die cut the images, colouring with my Chameleon pens as always.  I've then die cut the card base and all the matt and layers with various hexagonal dies using a mix of cardstock and a paper pad.

You can see lots more inspiration from the rest of the DT HERE and I hope you'll join in!

I'm very much looking forward to the weekend as it's the beginning of our half term break so a week off home school!
