Have A Hoot! - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy New Year!

My first post of 2022 and it's also the January Elemental Challenge over on the Daring Cardmakers.   I've chosen the mood board this time and have gone for something a little different.

It felt like a long time since I'd got my distress oxide inks out so I ink blended my background and added some water to make it react.

I then stamped my images and coloured them in with a new purchase.  I bought the Tonic Studios Nuvo Alcohol Markers and made use of them!  They blend well are very different to the Chameleon Pens which I am used to but I like how they work differently.  To finish I die cut the 'Happy Birthday' sentiment and assembled my slimline card.

Here is the image from which you need to choose 3 elements - colours count as 1.  I chose the colours, bird and branches for my creation.  You can see the rest of the Design Team inspiration HERE and I do hope that you will join in!

Have a lovely weekend and see you next week,

Halloween Inspired - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

Week two of half term has come to an end but the plus point is it's not long until the Christmas holidays!  We've had fun catching up with family this week.

As it's Halloween on Sunday the challenge on the Daring Cardmakers is Halloween inspired.  I was rather happy about this as it gave me an opportunity to make a Halloween card which I love making but have nobody to send to!

It all began with a die cut frame with a tree in black to which I added a background made using distress oxide inks through a stencil.

All the images were stamped, coloured with my Chameleon pens and then added to the background to complete the fun scene.

You can see lots more inspiration HERE from the rest of the DT and I hope to see you join in.  Remember it doesn't have to be a Halloween card - just inspired by it so the colours, a black cat, pumpkin etc.

See you again next week,

Maple Leaves - Trinity Stamps Brand Ambassador

Happy Tuesday!

A little bit of news to share today, I have been chosen to be a Brand Ambassador for Trinity Stamps which is a small family run business based in America and I'm sharing my first card using their products.

I really enjoyed playing around with this die set as there are so many variations you can have.  I used autumnal colours but not the regular ones as I wanted a change and these went so well with the embellishments too!

I added a die cut 'happy' which co-ordinates with a stamp set that has lots of sentiments to go with it so chose the 'You Make Me So Happy' in the end as it's a heartfelt one.

I've lots to get on with this week including parents evening so I'm off!

See you again soon!

August Elemental Challenge - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

I am back home after a wonderful break with my parents.  Already put a wash in and along with what feels like a million other chores!

As it's the first Friday in August, the Daring Cardmakers has it's August Elemental Inspirational Challenge and it was my turn to choose the mood board.  I actually wanted to incorporate a typewriter as a few weeks ago I won some Visible Image craft goodies from Stampers Grove and I loved the stamp set with the typewriter.

My background was made using a stencil with distress oxide inks blended through it.  I used a sheet of paper to mask off the bottom and inked it up before stamping on the sentiment.  The typewriter was stamped next and I made a mask then stamped the lettering above it.

This is the mood board from which you have to pick 3 elements or more (colours count as one).  I chose the colours, the typewriter, the circles and the lettering.  You can see more from the DT HERE and I hope you'll join in.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend and see you again next week!
