Plant A Flower Day - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

The Daring Cardmakers are celebrating 'Plant a Flower Day' today and want to see all your favourite blooms.  I used some pretty dies to make my card and thought I'd share another of my Mother's Day cards too.

I stuck to a limited colour palette and made sure the Mum popped on the card.

The background papers worked well even though they were from a Winter set.  It just goes to show there are many generic papers in a pad that can be used all year round.

You can see lots more inspiration for the Challenge HERE.

I have some Mother's Day cards to deliver today so I better go!

Enjoy your weekend,
Shabneez

Floral Window Box Mother's Day Card - Time for Tea Designs DT

Happy Wednesday!

Well, the boys have settled well back at school and I'm happy to report they go with a smile and return with one so I can't ask for anything more.  I believe not all the schools are back as the school run hasn't been too bad with not a lot of traffic thankfully.

Today I'm sharing a Mother's Day card I created in the form of a window box using the Time for Tea Designs new release Spring Blooms die set and stencils.

The die set is very pretty with the leaves and flowers as you can see from the photo and they leant themselves well to being planted in my window box!

The background was made using a couple of stencils and the window box with a rectangular piece of card which I used distress inks on then splashed with water to give it that weathered effect.

The flowers were die cut out of bright coloured card to make them pop and stuck inside my window box.

Watercolour Bouquet Card for Mum - Time for Tea Designs DT

Happy Wednesday!

My car has been very poorly for some time now and it's a good job I've not had to use it.  It is in a really bad way now and I have had no option but to get it fixed as I will need it for the school runs from Monday!  I'm dreading the bill!

As Mother's Day is approaching I thought I'd use the latest Time for Tea Designs release and make a paper floral bouquet.  After all, most Mums like flowers don't they?

The flowers and leaves were all die cut from watercolour card and I used my watercolour palette to paint them.  I then wrapped them in tissue paper and added twine to finish.

I used the same technique with the MUM sentiment and used the watercolours to paint an ombre effect.  The other sentiments were stamped and die cut.

The new release is on the website and you can get an extra 10% off anything in store using my code T4TSHABNEEZ10.  The collection will also be on Create & Craft on Sunday.

I hope to see you again on Friday but it'll depend if I meet my deadline as I have a lot of work on at the moment.

Take care,
Shabneez

Floral Focus - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

As it's the first day of Spring the Daring Cardmakers have a floral challenge that I'm sure you'll want to join in with.  I thought it was perfect with Mother's Day looming and in fact I'm sharing the card I made for my Mum.

I love making Mother's day cards as I have the freedom to use whatever I please.   I was fortunate to have a lot of Mother's Day commissions this year so my creativity went into overdrive! Ha!

I treated myself to a stamp set that was on offer, heat embossed and framed it.   I went all out on the florals with the background and additional blooms as my Mum is a huge fan of flowers and is a very keen gardener.

You can see lots more floral inspiration from the DT HERE.

Keep safe,

Getting to Know You - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

I love Fridays.  No matter what sort of a week you've had you know you get to have a break from the norm over the weekend.

Over on the Daring Cardmakers, Dawn has set the challenge this week and she's asked what techniques you enjoy as a crafter and where you craft.  This was tough as I enjoy many techniques and I can't really narrow it down to one but for this post I've chosen die cutting as I treated myself to a couple of new dies and used them on this creation.

I ordered the scrabble tile letters as soon as I saw them but had to wait a couple of weeks for them to come into stock and I can see them being very useful.  The Mother's Day die was one I saw on a creation by a lady who came to see me at a demo last week.  I really enjoy seeing other people's creations and sharing ideas.

I've used stitched dies both for the circle and the grass as well and used an embossing folder for the background, inking over it to add extra texture.

The wellington boot, sticker flowers, brads and papers are all from a Doodlebug kit I bought a long time ago.  I'm a big fan of vibrant colours so this collection was ideal for me!

Before I go, I better answer the second question about where I craft.  I really wish I could say I have a craft room but I can't.  I craft on the dining room table.  I need a table and structure to craft although I do all my die cutting on the floor.  I make a lot of mess when I craft and needless to say I have to tidy up afterwards as best as I can.....

I'd love to see what your favourite techniques are and where you craft so please join in with the Challenge and you can find more inspiration from the Design Team HERE.

Have a lovely weekend and for those of you celebrating Mother's Day - enjoy!
