CrafTangles Super Boy Card and Gift In One

Happy Thursday!

I'm blogging for CrafTangles today using their Super Boys Stamp and Die set.  I decided to make a card with a keepsake.  Both my boys love reading, the eldest often has more than one book on the go at a time!  So, I thought I'd make a bookmark that would slot into the card.

This is the card I made and I have a brief tutorial HERE if you're interested in seeing how I made it.

This is the bookmark that slots into the card:

I really enjoyed making this - the dies made cutting out the images so quick and easy.  I'm going to make a batch over the summer holidays as I'm sure they'll be well received on birthdays.  In fact, I might even get the boys to join me and colour in the images!

Happy Crafting!

July Elemental Challenge - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

It's the first Friday of the month which is time for an Elemental Challenge over on the Daring Cardmakers.  This month it's set by Dawn and I love the photo she's chosen.  To join in with the Challenge you have to choose any 3 or more elements on your card.  I opted for the colours, unicorn and stars on my creation.

So, being a fan of unicorns but not having a unicorn image I found a free digistamp HERE on Useless Trinkets, together with a sentiment.  There are some fabulous images and I'm looking forward to using the others as well.

Of course, every unicorn has to have some glitter so after colouring the image I used my trusty Stickles to add a little sparkle.

As my Glossy Accents were out on my table I used them to give the icing on the doughnut a glaze and give the mug dimension.

I hope you'll join in with this fun Challenge this week and I look forward to seeing what you make!  You can see all the fabulous inspiration my fellow DT members have come up with over on the Daring Cardmakers Blog.

I'm off to a family wedding this weekend and I even bought a new outfit and shoes for the occasion!  Of course, I couldn't leave the boys out so they have got cute bow ties................

Enjoy your weekend!

Angie's Digital Stamps DT - Challenge 11 (July)

Happy July!

Only a couple of weeks to go until the school holidays - the school year has certainly flown past and there are presentations and meeting the new teachers to look forward to this week.

As it's the beginning of the month, there's a new Challenge over on Angie's Digital Stamps with the theme of  'Anything Goes with an optional twist of adding red/white/blue or all three'.

I chose the whale digi stamp and made a nautical themed card with a port hole and seaweed.  I computer generated the sentiment as I didn't have an appropriate stamp.  One of my cousin's got really good results in his degree so I'll give him this card as we're all really proud of his achievement!

I've used glossy accents to highlight the drops of water and add a little dimension.  My glossy accents tube had been hiding in my cupboard but it's on the table now so I'm more likely to use it.

You'll find more inspiration on the blog page HERE so take a look and join in!

See you again on Friday!

Green & A Glimmer of Gold - Daring Cardmakers Challenge

Happy Friday!

At the end of last year I made a personal challenge to be more organised with my workload.  As a consequence, I started making my Mother's Day cards in January, which is early for me.  I have a couple left to do and one for my Mum too, as I sold the card I'd made for her!  Well, someone saw it, wanted it and I couldn't say no.  Plus it's gone to another Mum.  I will make her an even better one........

As it's St Patricks Day, Lythan set the challenge of using green and gold on our cards.  I used an old Stampin Up set which has a favourite sentiment of mine.  I heat embossed the flowers and sentiment in gold then coloured in the flowers using my alcohol markers.  I fussy cut the flowers and arranged them on my card.  I finished by adding glitter washi tape along the bottom, well, it's been a while hasn't it?!  I miss glitter if I don't use it at least once a week on a project........

The sentiment is completed inside the card:

For further inspiration and to enter the challenge please go to the Daring Cardmakers Blog.  I'd love to see what you come up with!

Enjoy the sunshine!
