Happy Wedding - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

Yet another glorious day.  My youngest has gone on a school trip so I was up early making sure his sun cream was liberally applied and he had his hat, water bottle and all the other necessities needed for a day trip.  It's heartwarming to see the enthusiasm with which he set off this morning and I hope he has a wonderful day.

Over on the Daring Cardmakers Ruth has a Wedding and Anniversary card theme going on for the latest challenge.  I actually need to make wedding cards as I have a few to attend over the summer.  However, with the mad week I've had I had half an hour this morning to make this card and photograph it before the 10am deadline when the blog goes live - oooops!

Luckily I had an idea in my head which always helps in times like this.  I recently bought a pre loved wedding themed stamp set from Lawn Fawn which was on my table waiting to be used.  I already had a pre cut frame die so this saved me time too.  I stamped the images I wanted and coloured them with my Zig pens then mat and layered the card.  I had some foiled card from another project I have been working on so punched out the hearts and added them as embellishments.

I'm back tomorrow with a blog hop so hope you'll pop by again!

Four of a Kind - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

Was it only yesterday I last blogged?!  Well, I'm back but don't get used to it!  Before I begin I'd like to say a huge Happy Birthday to my fellow Daring Cardmaker DT members and crafty friends Dawn and Kathy.  Dawn set the Challenge this week as it's her 40th she asked for four of anything on your card - a fun challenge wouldn't you agree?

For my inspirational card I used a lovely stamp and die set that I bought in the sale by Clearly Besotted.  There have been so many exam results celebrated lately and this was the perfect set to congratulate everyone.

I coloured the cute raccoons with my trusty Zig pens and used a stitched die to highlight the images.  Creating with cute images always bring a smile to my face.

I hope you'll join in with the Challenge this week and do check out the creations the DT have made HERE.

I've got my first Trimcraft demo of the season this weekend so I need to do a little more preparation.  Have a great weekend whatever you do!

CrafTangles Mermaid Kisses Centre Stepper Card

Happy Thursday!

I'm up on the CrafTangles Blog today using the fabulous Mermaid Kisses stamp set.

I had a lot of fun creating this card using a centre stepper as my base.  This style of card worked well with the 3D scene I wanted to create.

All the images were coloured in and then fussy cut before being assembled on the card.

I stamped bubbles from the set and heat embossed with white embossing powder to give it a kind of foamy effect.  I also added stitched borders to give the effect of waves.

I'll be back tomorrow so not long to wait - ha!

Have a good day,
Shabneez

Angie's Digital Stamp Challenge DT - Challenge 13 (September 2017)

Happy Tuesday!

I spent last weekend with my parents as it coincided with another celebration of Eid.  We got back late last night so I'm on a mission to get 101 things completed before school starts tomorrow (wish me luck as I'll definitely need it!).  The September challenge has begun over on Angie's Digital Stamps HERE with an anything goes theme.  I've gone cute this time, choosing a cat image.

I used my Zig pens to colour in and I'm really pleased with the outcome as you can see the mottled fur effect.  I used a selection of Dovecraft papers for the backing and buttons to embellish.

I better sign off and start on that list on or I won't get everything done!  I hope you'll join in with the Challenge.

Have a great week,
Shabneez

Those Cute CrafTangles Crabs!

Happy Sunday!

It's all about the crabs today over on the CrafTanlges blog HERE.  I've got a blog post showcasing those cute crab stamp sets which are perfect for the weather we've been having this Bank Holiday!  There's a mini tutorial too, more details further down my post.

The sentiments with the sets are all quite amusing and go so well with the crab images.  The crabs have great expressions on their faces - they certainly make me smile!

For my first card I used a film strip die cut as I associated the 'snappy' sentiment not only with the crab but taking photos.

For my second card I used a really versatile stencil set to create the distress ink beach background.  I made a funny scene with one of the crabs being hoisted by the balloon.

For my final card, I've done a tutorial to show how easy it is to make these circle easel cards.  They're fun!

I've kept the designs quite simple so that the crabs stand out.  I've used my zigs to colour in all the images and added a Wink of Stella for a little sparkle.

We're hoping to spend a day at the seaside tomorrow as the weather is supposed to hold out and I'm really looking forward to as I find the sea so calming, I could sit and watch it all day!

Have a great week,

I'll Have A Coffee To Go! - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

Not sure where the days are going, they appear to be rolling into weeks and it'll be September soon! I must admit the school holidays are really speeding by and I managed to get school shoes and uniform this week in preparation.   Now, all I have left is sewing in the name labels - yawn..........

Over on the Daring Cardmakers blog this week, Kathy has chosen the delicious theme of fast food and coffee to go.  Fluffy Gustav has a starring role on my creation, as like me, he loves his coffee and I'm sure you'll agree he's rather cute!

I've kept with the coffee theme and made coffee cup rings for the background and added a few flat gems and twine to finish.  I love the sentiment - don't you?!

There's a feast for the eyes to be had on the Daring Cardmakers blog HERE but beware if you're going to look on an empty stomach!  Haha!

See you again in a couple of days!
