Snowflake Card Using Fiskerettes Prize

Hello again!

Two posts in such a short space of time - a first for me!

I was very fortunate to win a Fiskers Snowflake punch from a competition on the Fiskarettes Facebook page. I like their Facebook page as it gives inspiration and ideas on how to use their products and general tutorials which are very useful.

As soon as I got the punch my two sons were punching out snowflakes galore! When they were safely in bed I created the card below which has a snowflake theme - printed, embossed, coated wooden and the addition of the punched metallic snowflakes.

I used organza ribbon to form a double bow and added a wooden snowflake to the middle of it. A metallic marker and a covering of silver glitter glue transformed the wooden snowflake.  You can see it better in the photo below:

Merry Kissmas!

Happy Friday!

Today, I'd like to share a quirky card I made for a husband - not mine though! Thought I'd go a little cheeky and use 'Merry Kissmas' so based the rest of my card around that.

I used lips and holly rub ons from my stash on the sentiment. I added red mirri card and lime green glitter card as backing onto holly paper.

Finally, I added a cute penguin holding a sprig of mistletoe which I thought was quite apt!  A couple of baubles, glitter glue, card candi and foil tape to embellish.

Thank you for looking and any comments are much appreciated.

Christmas Wishes A4 Card

Hello!

I can't believe it's only another 2 days before the school holidays start for my boys! I've got so many gifts and cards still to make......

So, without further ado - an A4 Christmas card using the Trimcraft First Edition Christmas Wishes pad. I do love this pad and it's had a lot of use! The colours, glitter and prints all appeal to me.

I used the paper to highlight the 25th by making a shaker frame that I coloured with a silver marker then added glitter glue. I added small sequins to it (below).

I covered wooden snowflakes in red glitter to add some more bling together with a topper from my stash. The sentiment is an old Craftwork cards one (as seen below).

Belle & Boo Xmas Shaker Card

Hello and it's the weekend! Yay!!!!

Today, I'd like to share a basic shaker card I've made from the Trimcraft Belle & Boo Christmas range. It's another range that has a lot of co-ordinating elements.

Firstly, I made the shaker topper by cutting out and constructing the découpage girl and fox. Then I cut out the frame, added acetate, double sided foam tape and some very pretty iridescent sequins (seen above).

Next, I matted and layered a sheet of paper and cut out a patterned strip from another sheet. I matted the strip on green felt and added a sentiment and buttons (see below).

Finally, I added the topper and a few embellishments to complete the card as shown below.

Thank you for looking and any comments are much appreciated.

Glad Tidings Twisted Easel Card

Hello!

Today, I'd like to share a twisted easel card I made using the Trimcraft Glad Tidings pad.

I loved the stag image in the papers so co-ordinated it with an image from the embellishment pack as the focal point.

I added snowflakes, sequins, a doilie and a bow all from the same range (see below).

Finally, on the bottom I added a wooden snowflake to act as a stopper for the card to stand (see below).

Baby Keepsake

Hello!

A friend of mine recently had a baby and I thought I'd make her a keepsake as a gift.

I bought a frame that could either be hung or kept standing.

I began by choosing the paper. I wanted a pink/purple shade and the Trimcraft Pretty in Pink range was ideal for this, I added doilies and pearls from the same range.

As I wanted to include the name, weight and date of birth I used alphabet dies for those.

I arranged various elements inside the frame and then large paper flowers on the top of the frame to which I added glitter glue.

I went to visit my friend yesterday and she loved the frame. Lillian was fast asleep - a beautiful baby.

Christmas Wishes Easel Card

Hello!

I recently acquired the First Edition Christmas Wishes 12x12 pad by Trimcraft. It contains fabric feel, glossy, glittered and double sided papers.

In order to "show off" the papers, I decided to make an easel card. I started with a 6x6 red card and scored the top in half to make the basic easel card.

I then laid everything out that I wanted to use on the front of the card (see below):

I fussy cut the glossy scalloped circles from a sheet of the paper and cut the sentiments and both the backing sheets from another sheet.

For the bottom of the card, I used a glittered sheet together with a couple of fussy cut elements (see below):

Finally, I used glue and fine glitter on a wooden snowflake and stuck it on the front (photo below) together with bows, buttons and gems.

Here is the final card:

North Pole's Blue Xmas Tree

Hello!

Trimcraft have launched a few new Christmas ranges, one of which is called North Pole. It's mostly shades of beige, red and blue.

As you can see from the photo above there are lots of items for embellishing your projects in the range.

For my card I used the Dovecraft Basics wooden Christmas tree which I coloured in with the Dovecraft metallic markers. I then used the Dovecraft glitter glue on top to give it some sparkle.

I really like the markers as they have a lovely metallic sheen to them. I used them to mark around the card like faux stitching as well.

I used the ribbon on the side and on the sentiment I added two adhesive clear gems.

Above is the card I ended up with.

Thank you for looking and any comments.

Bohemian Birthday Card for Mum

Hello!

This is the card I made for my Mum's birthday last week. I used the Trimcraft Bohemian range which is definitely one of my all time favourite collections.

I like collections because as well as paper pads they also contain embellishments, toppers, tags etc and it makes life easier as you don't need to find items to co-ordinate.

Having said that, I did add a Hunkydory tag and a Papermania Tulip sentiment but only because I wanted specific sentiments!

Thank you for looking. Your comments are appreciated.

Lilac & Green Thank You Card

Hello!

I thought I'd write a post on a thank you card I made last night. It's for someone who sent me loads of craft goodies. I entered a challenge online and my name was picked at random.

I've used the Papermania Tulip range for both the topper and sentiment and just done simple matt and layering. Just a few flowers and flourishes and pearls to finish!

Thank you for looking.

A Contemporary Wedding Card

Hello!

I've been a bit quiet on the blog front as I've been away - visiting family in the East Midlands and Holland.

I had an order for a wedding card and thought I'd use the Lilli of the Valley papers I won in July. They are ideal for wedding cards and I love the fresh and summery colours.

I teamed the papers with a doiley and die cut two Sizzix hearts. I added really old Papermania stickers to card and made tags to hang from the hearts.

Hope the couple like my creation!

Little Meow Thank You Card

Hello!

Today, I'd like to share a card I made for my sister in law whom we stayed with in Holland. She has two cats so I thought the Papermania Little Meow range was ideal!

It's a CAS (clean and simple) card and I've matted and layered pages from the notepad below:

I've also used elements from these Papermania Little Meow packs (below):

Other additions include a wooden frame, card candi, pearls and paper flowers fixed with a brad.

I've added glitter glue to the cats and the flowers as seen below:

Hopefully my sister in law will like it!

Anita's Foiled Decoupage Robin Card

Hello!

I thought I'd share another card I made with the Anita's Foiled Decoupage sheets I received a few weeks ago.

This card actually started off as a triangle fold card which I attempted from a magazine. Once I'd made it, it just didn't look right with the topper.  Not one to waste anything I improvised and made this shape instead.

I covered the front and inside of the card with the free Docrafts papers (www.docrafts.com).  They co-ordinated really well with the topper I was using.

I added a die cut circle to the back of the topper.

Then I assembled the card by attaching the topper on the card and adding sentiments with ribbon.

I added the above notelet inside the card to finish.

Thank you for looking - your comments are much appreciated.

Birthday cards for my Brother

Hello!

I thought I'd share a couple of cards I made for my brother's upcoming birthday.

Above is the first card which I've just matted and layered various elements from my stash.

I've used a few items from the Papermania Roald Dahl collection and washi tape on the sides from the Santoro Gorjuss range.

The next card (above) was a request from my Mum for my brother. She's stopped buying cards since I make them!

Again matting and layering with various papers/card from my stash. The camera die is one I won through a competition. It's an American Crafts one and extremely good quality. It cuts and embosses in one.

Thank you for looking - comments appreciated!

Xcut Bauble Die Card

Hello!

I thought I'd open up the set of Xcut dies I received and use them to make a card. I picked on the snowflake die as I love snowflakes.

I printed off free snowflake papers from the Docrafts site (www.docrafts.com) and stuck that on the card then rounded the corners with a punch.

I added coordinating glitter ribbon to the side of the card.

Next, I matted and layered green and red card and embossed the green with dots.

I added the bauble in the centre and a small bow on the top.

I find I don't always make use of the small sentiments from a pack so decided to make them a focal point in this card by adding 3 smaller ones with foam tape. I finished off the card with some gems.

Thank you for looking.

My Make in the July Issue of Quick Cards Made Easy

Hello!

I was flicking through the latest issue of Quick Cards Made Easy last night and saw my card in print!

It's the birdcage card I made for my Mum's birthday! It was made using a Craftwork Cards birdcage card.

Funnily enough, I also spotted Angela Dodson's beautiful butterfly card and I messaged her to let her know. She was as surprised as I was! You can see more of Angela's fabulous designs on her blog http://pollypurplehorse.blogspot.co.uk.

A Rocking Birthday to Daring Cardmakers

Hello!

I've decided to enter a competition for Daring Cardmakers. It's a blog that's run by cardmakers from the UK and Europe. They host weekly card making challenges that are fun!

The brief for the competition this week was to make a birthday card that was rock themed (I used diamonds) and use the colour ruby (I used it in the background paper and stamped sentiments).

I used a sizzix bigz die for the white flourish background and stuck on butterflies from my stash.

I die cut and embossed the purple square and die cut the sentiment, both with sizzix dies. Finally I folded some ribbon to add extra texture and colour.

Santoro Gorjuss Stamped Card

Hello!

I love the Docrafts Santoro Gorjuss range. I've used the decoupage to create this simple card below:

Today was the first time I used the Santoro Gorjuss rubber stamps from the pack shown in the image below to make a card:

First, I stamped the image of the girl and the bow onto white card. Then, I coloured in the images with pencil crayons as I don't have any special pens for colouring stamped images. It's something I'm still researching - thoughts welcome!

I cut out the images:

I put some glitter glue on the bow, let it dry and then attached it to the girl image with sticky foam pads.

I used a 5"x7" card and stamped the border from the stamp set. I also stamped a few butterflies from the same set. I used glitter glue to put dots on the border.

To assemble the card, I stuck the stamped girl image inside the oval border, added a bow from the Gorjuss range and finally three glitter flowers and gems from my stash. I inked around the edges of the card.

Easel Card using Anita's Foiled Decoupage Topper

Hello!

This is the second of the toppers from the Anita's Foiled Decoupage Topper pack that I made up.

I printed out a strawberry paper from the Docrafts website range of free papers to compliment the topper.

I thought I'd highlight the strawberries and make it a summery card. For this card I decided to make an easel card.

This is done by folding one half of a square card like this:

I stuck the paper on the inside of the card first to make it easier.

I then cut out a green piece of card the same size as my card. I stuck this on to my card then layered another sheet of the strawberry paper and the topper. I found a sentiment in my stash and added a yellow strip and 3 circular images all popped out from the Decoupage sheet.

Finally, I added a button to stop the card from slipping forward and another green strip of card with a green topper that I could write in.

Thank you for looking.
