November Elemental Challenge - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

I'm excited as the Daring Cardmakers have begun their countdown to Christmas so all the challenges up until the 18th of December will be festive and they will definitely help me get a move on with my Christmas cards!

As it is the first Friday of the month it is an elemental challenge and I have chosen to use a beautiful paper pad that I have difficulty cutting into as it is just sooooo pretty.  It was actually a gift from a friend so extra special!

I wanted the paper to be the star of the card so I added some die cut elements to it and heat embossed part of the sentiment.  I cut a circular frame and the sentiment to it together with some foliage.

The paper is already foiled in places so I simply added some Nuvo Glitter drops to the foliage.  

This is the image from which you have to choose at least 3 elements - colours count as 1.  I chose the colours, the tree, snowflakes, silver circle and foliage.

Christmas in July - Time for Tea Designs DT

I think I started making Christmas cards at the beginning of the month ready for the Create & Craft Show that took place on Monday.  I made this one just for this post as it combines elements from all 3 of the new Time for Tea Designs Christmas releases together with one of the fabulous slim line dies - the Candy Stripes Slimline Cover die.

Of course I couldn't do my first blogged Christmas card of the year without some sparkle and I used glitter card to cut out the 'HO HO HO' which are actually letters from the HOORAY die set!

My images were all coloured in using my Chameleon pens and die cut.  I added the santa hat on to the dog by cutting it out of a stamped image from the Santa Paws set.

All these Christmas stamp and die sets are currently exclusive to Create & Craft.

Recycle! - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

Did you clap from your front door for the remarkable job the NHS employees are doing last night?  We did together with the rest of our street and the community spirit in spite of all that's going on was so heart warming!  So the special thanks on my card is not only for the NHS workers but for all those front line workers who risk their lives to make ours easier.

The Daring Cardmakers would like to see you use recycling on your creations this week and I have used some kraft packaging from batteries.  I also recycled the back of a birthday card to create an oval frame.

I used the Trimcraft First Edition Bloom & Wonder pad for the background and fussy cut the main bloom as well as the leaves and a butterfly.  The grey oval frame I die cut out of a used birthday card.

The leaf dies were a lovely surprise gift from a friend so I had to use them!  I cut them out with glitter card to add a little bling.
