Sweet Honeypot Die Set - Tonic Studios Launch

Happy Boxing Day!

I hope you've all been having a good break over the festive season.  We've all been having turns with coughs and colds in our household as it seems to be the time of year for them.

On a positive note, there is a lovely new launch from Tonic Studios today of the Sweet Honeypot Die Set.  My affiliate links at no cost to you are here:

UK: HERE

USA: HERE

The Honeypot is really easy to put together and makes a good size gift box.  There are elements to embellish it with including a tag, bees and die cuts for the sides too.

I opted to decorate mine with bee themed papers and flowers from another Tonic Studios die set.  I coloured the bees in with Nuvo alcohol markers.

See you in the New Year!

Superb Slider Box Launch - Tonic Studios

Happy Thursday!

I'm very excited to share the latest Showcase by Tonic Studios - the Superb Slider Box Die Set.  It's such a wonderfully designed set and you can make it up in different ways depending on what your contents are.  You can find it:

HERE if you are in the UK or Europe

HERE if you are in the USA

When I first saw the set it actually reminded me of a tiffin - commonly used to store different foods!  You could of course gift sweets or chocolates in your Superb Slider Box or as I have done above, use it as a desk tidy!  I decorated it with a die cut sunflower.

Decorating the Superb Slider is the fun part and there are tags included in the set with Thank You and Made With Love.  I added some ribbon and Nuvo drops together with some leaves from the Stamp Club Sunshine & Sunflowers stamp and die set.

See you again soon,
Shabneez

Black And White Plus One - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

It's my turn to host the challenge on the Daring Cardmakers this week and I have chosen a black and white plus one other colour theme.  I tend to use black ink the most and white card so I thought it would be fun to add just one other colour.

I printed out and fussy cut digi images which I won from Isabel Cristina who has an etsy shop.  Her designs are wonderful and it was so difficult to make a choice.

Instead of colouring in the images I thought I would stencil over them instead to give a different look and then I added some Nuvo Drops to add a little texture.

You can see more inspiration from the rest of the Design Team HERE and I hope you'll join in.

Have a great weekend,
Shabneez

Celebrate! - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

I've been very busy this week preparing for the festival of Eid which marks the end of the month of fasting for Muslims.  I thought I'd bring it into this week's challenge so everyone can join in and celebrate with me although it doesn't have to be an Eid card just a card with 'celebrate' on it!

I decided I wanted to go bright with a touch of luxury with my Eid cards this year so I pulled out a very old paper pad which had been gifted to me and has gold foiling on it.  I then used the frames, flowers and butterfly from the Bunnies & Blooms Die set to add more interest.  The 'celebrate' and 'Eid' were die cut and added to the frames and to finish I added some Nuvo drops to the flowers and butterflies.

If you'd like to join in with this week's challenge below you'll find some more information and lots more inspiration from the rest of the DT HERE:

I've still got lots more preparation to go but I intend to celebrate with extended family this year as with Covid it's not been possible the past couple of years.  The boys are very excited!

Have a wonderful bank holiday weekend,

Hello Spring! - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

After a good few weeks following the storms we finally got our fences repaired/replaced.  It was worth the wait and the garden looks so much better.  However, it'll mean I need to do some pruning at some point soon so the fence is seen more!

This Sunday sees the official first day of Spring so I thought why not make a challenge of it and I did!  The Daring Cardmakers would like to see anything Spring related on your cards this week.

I picked on the newly released Bunnies & Blooms Die Set by Tonic Studios and decided to use the dies in non traditional ways.  The card fits perfectly into an A7 sized envelope.  This is important to me as although I make my own envelopes it's so much easier using a ready made one!

In my mind I had a floral meadow with bunnies hopping through it so that's what I created!  I really loved making the card and added Nuvo Drops for a little sparkle.

You can see lots more inspiration from the rest of the Design Team HERE and I do hope you'll join in.

You may find me in the garden this weekend but only if the sun is out!

See you next week,
Shabneez

March Elemental Challenge - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy March!

I missed blogging last week as I had so much work to catch up with after my week off over half term.

This week I'm back with the March Elemental challenge for the Daring Cardmakers.   For my card, I used some very old papers from Craftwork Cards and new embellishments to go with them!

I cut into the papers and added a frame to the back of the bicycle as well as some foliage.

I then went over the bicycle and flowers with the Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Pen which I only got yesterday and I've been using it on everything!  It gives such a pretty shimmer.  I also added some Nuvo Drops for texture.

Here is the moodboard from which you need to pick at least 3 elements - colours count as one.  I chose the bicycle, frame and flowers.

I hope you'll join in and see you again next week.

Have A Treemendous Christmas! - Time for Tea Designs DT

Happy Wednesday!

I've spent a lot of time cleaning the house and then playing board games with the boys to relax!  It's been lovely and we've managed to watch some films together as well.

Only 2 more sleeps to Christmas and I thought I'd share a fun festive card.

I used the very versatile Christmas Surprises stamp and die set and coloured the images using my Chameleon pens.  I paper pieced the tree, using Nuvo drops for the baubles.

The background was created using a stencil with distress oxide inks blended through them creating a brick wall.  In my head I had the Christmas tree outside with the bunny trying to fix the lights and the other critter peeking out of the house holding the sign.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas.

See you next week,
Shabneez

Bear Hugs & Donuts

Happy Wednesday!

After making this card yesterday I'm actually craving doughnuts!  I must admit I'm not so fond of the colourful glazed ones but am definitely partial to a sugared one.  How about you?

I've had a doughnut card in my head for a long time as I wanted to incorporate the stamped bear holding the doughnut.  The bear and doughnut were coloured with my Chameleon pens and I added some glossy accents to the little doughnut to add a sheen.

I bought the Splish Splash stencil from the new release last week as I thought it would be versatile and it is!  I used it to ink through my doughnut with the stencil and distress oxide ink that started reacting in the heat so I got quite a realistic glaze!  I added Tonic Nuvo drops for sprinkles.  Distress oxide inks work really well on coloured cardstock as the ink sits on the card as opposed to getting absorbed into it like with Distress inks.

I hope you enjoyed this post and see you again later on in the week!
