A Bunch Of - Daring Caring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

I'm looking forward to not one but two long weekends in a row, aren't you?!  Not sure what the plans are but hoping to do a little exploring in London at some point.

For the Daring Cardmakers this week, Joanne would like to see a bunch of something on your cards  - grapes, flowers, bananas perhaps?  I have opted for bananas!

I designed a fun card using a variety of stamps and dies that made me smile.  The background and leaves were all blended with distress oxide inks and the monkeys were stamped and coloured with my Chameleon pens.

You can see what other bunches the rest of the Design Team came up with HERE and hope you'll join in.

Have a wonderful weekend and see you again soon,

For Ukraine - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

This week the Daring Cardmakers are filling the blog with sunflowers, blue, yellow and hope for Ukraine.

There are so many craft companies and individuals helping Ukraine either through donations or allowing the use of their images for free.  I have used one of a number of digi images which Marcella Hawley has given for free on her site Power Poppy.

I printed the image on watercolour card and then used my Zig Clean Color pens to colour in the image.  I added some sparkle to the image with the Nuvo Aqua Shimmer pen which you'll be able to see more clearly in the next photo.

I kept my background simple using distress oxide inks through a stencil then adding Nuvo Crackle Mousse in places to add a little texture.

I really hope you'll join in this week and you can see more inspiration from the rest of the DT HERE.

Have a good weekend,
Shabneez

November Elemental Challenge - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy November!

Wow that had to be one of the fastest weeks ever - from Monday to Friday in the blink of an eye!  Think it was partly due to the boys being back at school.  We've had frost in the mornings as it has certainly turned colder.

As it's the first Friday in November it is an the elemental challenge over on the Daring Cardmakers.  I enjoyed creating this one with my inks and stamps.

I coloured in some of the image with my Chameleon pencils just to highlight it and added some gold glitter glue to the berries and some gems to add a touch of bling.

This is the elemental board from which you need to pick 3 elements - colours count as one.  I chose the colours, pinecones and berries.

You can see more inspiration from the Design Team HERE and a link to join in!

Have a lovely weekend and see you next week,

Awesome Autumn - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

My to do list this week is massive - I have barely got through a quarter of it and it's Friday already!  I guess I better get my skates on today.

I'm concentrating on what makes me happy at the moment and one of those is the autumn.  I just love everything about it!  So, I decided 'Awesome Autumn' would be the theme for the Daring Cardmakers challenge this week!

I absolutely loved creating this card although I did have to start from the beginning a couple of times as it wasn't quite what I had in my head at first.  The background was made using a blend of distress oxide inks.  The autumn die set helped create the scene and was also coloured using my distress oxides.

I stamped and coloured in the fox with my chameleon pens and added a little speech bubble from the same set.  Incidentally the stamp set was gifted to me by a very kind friend.

You can see lots more inspiration for this challenge from the rest of the Design Team HERE and I hope that you'll join in celebrating everything autumn with me!

Have a great weekend,

Go Bananas! - Heffy Doodle Fan Hop 2021

Happy Monday!

A late post from me as I'm away and promised I wouldn't go on my laptop until the boys are in bed!  We're having a great time having visited a beautiful Japanese garden and managed to see Jungle Cruise at the cinema too.

I am taking part in a Heffy Doodle Fan Hop with a number of others on Instagram where you can win a number of prizes.  It finishes on 7 August and should you wish to check it out my instagram account can be found HERE.

I thought I would use one of my favourite Heffy Doodle stamp sets for my card - those monkeys are just so cheeky!  I used a die to cut out the apertures in the background and ink blended with distress oxide inks before adding some white paint.

The images were all coloured in with my Chameleon pens and I die cut tropical leaves and used my distress oxide inks to colour them in.

See you again on Friday!

Gift Tags Galore - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

The boys and I have come to stay with my parents at the moment and it's wonderful!  I am confessing to bringing my laptop to do some work but I only use it during the night once the boys are in bed.

This week tags are on the agenda for the Daring Cardmakers and I've gone all mixed media again for mine!

I have to admit I loved making this.  I just love layering different mediums and seeing the results!

I paper pieced the mannequin with some book paper which has given it a vintage feel.  Having made this I don't think I want to put it on a gift.  I might just keep it!

Lots of inspiration from the rest of the Design Team can be found HERE and I hope you'll join in.

Splish Splash - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

Hasn't it been glorious weather?  Great for the start of the summer holidays as at least the boys can play outside.  It's been a busy week for me but I managed to take time out to celebrate Eid with family.

This week the Daring Cardmakers have a cooling theme - splish splash!  I had a lot of fun making the water themed backgrounds and coupling them with dies and ephemera.

I was a little naughty as I missed last week's challenge due to family commitments so thought I'd make up for it by making 2 cards this week.

My backgrounds were made using distress oxide ink pads and the smooshing technique.  For the first card I framed it with a black stitched circle and die cut 'thank you' in white.  I added a sentiment and a couple of sharks from a pack of sea creature ephemera I bought from Sticker Kitten.  I love a good pun and the set has some really fun ones in with it.

My second card was a lot simpler but I wanted to use up the remaining background so I made another card.

For this one I die cut the 'thank you' on white card then added my background behind it.  I just added an additional sentiment and a dolphin to finish.

You can see more inspiration from the rest of the DT HERE.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Whoopsie Daisy - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy July!

I'm a little late this week as I've been out of town so had a lot to catch up on my return.  As it's the first Friday in July it is of course the elemental challenge over on the Daring Cardmakers.

I've used a new die and sentiment stamp on my creation.  I love the sentiment on this and it went so well with the image of the little hedgehog I thought.  My background was made using a couple of stencils and distress oxide inks.  I kind of got fed up with the normal background colours so went for something different.

The image was stamped and coloured in using my Chameleon pens.  I then used a die to cut out the frame and another die to cut out the sentiment strip.

You can see lots more inspiration from the DT HERE and below you'll find the mood board from which you need to use 3 elements or more.  I chose the circle, daisy and frame.  I hope you'll join in.

I managed to get lots of gardening done last Friday evening and Saturday afternoon so I intend to catch up on some crafting this weekend after a new school uniform fitting.

Up The Flag Pole! - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

I'm a little late to the party this week as I am up to my eyes in work.  I can barely see over my desk but I love what I do!!!!  The Daring Cardmakers have a flag themed challenge this week.  Basically you need to take inspiration from a flag that is not from your country.

I will be honest in that I was a little stressed about this challenge but once I got the idea planted in my head by a crafty friend I was away!  I absolutely loved creating the background with my gelli plate and hopefully you can tell by the stars and stripes that I took inspiration from the American flag.

I coloured in my image using my Chameleon pens and added washi tape both as a background for my sentiment and as an embellishment.

You can see more inspiration from my fellow DT HERE and I hope you'll have some fun with us and join in.

I've another work orientated weekend trying to catch up after half term.  I think it'll ease a little after next week is over - at least I hope so!

Have a great weekend and hope the sun shines!

May Elemental Challenge - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

I'm pleased to report that both myself and my husband have had our first COVID vaccines - such relief.  Our next ones have been booked, but not until July.

I made a very quick card for the Daring Cardmakers challenge this week using a number of products from Aall & Create.  I love making backgrounds using stamps and stencils so just went with the flow and was inspired by the mood board below.

I stamped and die cut the bee and painted it using my distress oxides before adding some washi tape to finish.

The
image below is the mood board from which you need to pick 3 elements - colours count as one.  I chose the colours, the bee, the honeycomb and the white on black writing.

Celebrating Books - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

It's international book day so the Daring Cardmakers would like to share in the celebrations by showcasing cards that focus on books and their heroes!

I had the perfect stamp set in mind for this challenge and used my watercolour pens to colour in the images.

The background was smooshed oxide inks and I lay part of a die cut on the top before adding a frame followed by the images and sentiment.

You can see lots more inspiration for the challenge HERE and I do hope you'll join in!

Black, White Plus 1 Colour - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

The boys are still off for Easter so it's lovely to be able to spend time together before they go back to school next week.

I absolutely love the challenge that has been set for the Daring Cardmakers this week.  You have to use black, white and one other colour.  In my case it's orange!

I loved making this card and used a variety of stamps and a stencil to create the background.  The main stamp made it so easy to create.

As an addition I added a couple of vellum butterflies and then used glitter glue on them to give them a little sparkle.

You can see more inspiration from the rest of the DT HERE and I hope you will join in.

I'm off to collect some cricket gear for my son as next term he'll be playing in school.

Say It Loud - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

I have a man down today - a cold but he seems to be suffering so a bit of rest and TLC and he'll be fine for Monday hopefully!

This week the Daring Cardmakers would like to see you use words as your focal point - the bolder the better!  I used one of my favourite birthday dies on my card and used the negative to make a shaker.

The background was one I had in my stash.  It was a mop up from another project I had done and I thought it worked really well with this simple underwater scene.

The little turtle is just so cute and I coloured him up with my chameleon pens and added a party hat from the same set.  To finish I added a speech bubble with a fun sentiment.

You can see lots more inspiration from my fellow DT HERE and I hope you'll join in.

I hope you have a lovely weekend and see you next week,

Birthday Bees Card - Time For Tea Designs DT

Happy Wednesday!

It's so funny as it feels like the boys have only just begun school and they finish next Wednesday for Easter!

Today I'm sharing a card perfect for this time of year with seeing a lot of bees in my garden.  In fact I had a huge one in the bedroom the other day but it was only looking to go back out so I opened the window wide for it to continue its journey.

I loved making this card, especially colouring all the elements with my Chameleon pens.  The background was made using the Beehive stencil with my Distress Oxide inks on a die cut sheet of card.

Floral Window Box Mother's Day Card - Time for Tea Designs DT

Happy Wednesday!

Well, the boys have settled well back at school and I'm happy to report they go with a smile and return with one so I can't ask for anything more.  I believe not all the schools are back as the school run hasn't been too bad with not a lot of traffic thankfully.

Today I'm sharing a Mother's Day card I created in the form of a window box using the Time for Tea Designs new release Spring Blooms die set and stencils.

The die set is very pretty with the leaves and flowers as you can see from the photo and they leant themselves well to being planted in my window box!

The background was made using a couple of stencils and the window box with a rectangular piece of card which I used distress inks on then splashed with water to give it that weathered effect.

The flowers were die cut out of bright coloured card to make them pop and stuck inside my window box.

As ever, you can get 10% off anything in store using my code T4TSHABNEEZ10.

March Elemental Challenge - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

As it's the first Friday of the month it's the elemental challenge over on the Daring Cardmakers.  I made my card in half an hour - talk about speed crafting!  I did have the image pre stamped and coloured though.

It has a vintage feel to it and I began by using a mask stencil to create the background then stamped over it and coloured the image using my Chameleon pencils.

I used distress oxide inks to blend across the edges of my card and paper doilies.  I stitched the doilies on to my card through the button so didn't need any glue and added a sentiment to finish.

Here is the mood board from which you need to pick 3 elements - colours count as 1.  I chose the colours, the bird, flowers, twine and buttons.

You can see lots more inspiration from the DT HERE and I hope that you will join in with the challenge.

Pinecone - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

You'll be pleased to hear our first day of home schooling went well - if only every week was a 2 day school week!!!!

It's the first Friday of the month so an elemental challenge from the Daring Cardmakers.  I've gone all mixed media on this one and thoroughly enjoyed the process too!

My background was a leftover one from brayering paint on my gelli plate and I added layers of stamping to it together with some washi tape.  I stamped and coloured my images with inktense pencils, as they happened to be out on the table, then fussy cut them.

I used distress crayons through a stencil and love the added texture they created.  To finish I added some paste that looks a little like snow.

This is the image from which you need to pick 3 elements.  I chose the colours, pinecone and bird.  You can find lots more inspiration from the rest of the Design Team HERE and I do hope you'll join in.

Have A Treemendous Christmas! - Time for Tea Designs DT

Happy Wednesday!

I've spent a lot of time cleaning the house and then playing board games with the boys to relax!  It's been lovely and we've managed to watch some films together as well.

Only 2 more sleeps to Christmas and I thought I'd share a fun festive card.

I used the very versatile Christmas Surprises stamp and die set and coloured the images using my Chameleon pens.  I paper pieced the tree, using Nuvo drops for the baubles.

The background was created using a stencil with distress oxide inks blended through them creating a brick wall.  In my head I had the Christmas tree outside with the bunny trying to fix the lights and the other critter peeking out of the house holding the sign.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas.

See you next week,

Merry Christmouse Snow Globe Card

Happy Wednesday!

I hope you are keeping safe and warm.  If you happened to tune into Create & Craft yesterday you may have seen this card on display on the Time for Tea Designs Show.  It's made using the newly released Carolling Critters stamp set.

The background was made using distress oxide inks blended and then I added water to give the effect of snow.  All my images were stamped and coloured using my Chameleon pens.

I decided to make the scene into a cute snow globe by adding a cut out sentiment to a frame made from die cut circles.

As ever you can get 10% off anything in store using my code T4TSHABNEEZ10.

All Dressed Up - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

Am I glad it's Friday!!!  It's been a manic week and I'm very much looking forward to the weekend.  It was very nippy this morning and this week's Daring Cardmakers challenge fits the bill perfectly with an 'All Dressed Up' theme.

I think my image and sentiment work perfectly don't you?  The stamp set is a pre preloved one I bought recently from Neat & Tangled.  I made the background blending distress oxides through a stencil and spattering with water very gently to create the snow effect.

The images were stamped and coloured using my Chameleon pens and then fussy cut.  The sentiment was heat embossed in white on red card.

You can see lots more inspiration for the challenge by my fellow DT members HERE and I hope you'll join in!

Have a lovely weekend and see you again next week!
