Celebrate Gift Card - Tonic Studios Craft Kit 90

Happy Thursday!

Looking back, it's been a while since I posted on my blog however this will change next week as I have a lot of blog posts to cover being Tonic Studio's March Madness Week.

Today I am sharing my creations using the latest Craft Kit 90 - Celebrate Gift Card and my affiliate links are here, with thanks:

UK & Europe: HERE

USA & Rest of the World: HERE

So the Kit has all the elements you will require to make gift card holders very simply and so that's what I did for my first make. I made use of all the pretty coloured cardstock in the Kit and added a rolled up flower from the die set too. You just pull the tab to show the gift card.

Next, I decided to make a card with the gift card holder on the front - save you buying a card! I used the embossing folder from the Kit and I love the sentiments and the balloons.  I added some Nuvo drops from the Kit to finish.

For my final make I opted to make a handbag from the die set and put it on a background made from the shimmer powder from the Kit.

I stamped on the handbag and added flowers.  Just goes to show you can use dies in many different ways, not just how they were intended!

See you again soon,

December Elemental - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy December!

It's the first Friday of the month so time for the elemental challenge over on the Daring Cardmakers.  Today I am sharing a Christmas card I made for a client to give to his wife.

I made a rocker card using a very old Kanban die set and this card is a good size - fits into a 7" square envelope.  The gnome elements are from the Christmas Gnomes Pop Up Card Kit by Katy Sue Designs.

This is the mood board from which you choose any 3 elements, colours count as 1.  I used the christmas tree, gnome and snowy background.  You can see more from the rest of the Design Team and join in HERE.

See you again next week,

Warm (Crafty Christmas 2024) - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

It's getting chilly and so my jumper and boots are out today!  The Daring Cardmakers have an apt challenge this week using the word WARM.  You can see more from the rest of the Design Team HERE and if you fancy joining in there is a link too.

I have got a fire place on my card and a cosy setting.  It's from the Fairy Tale Christmas Collection from Katy Sue Designs and the Die Set is also from there but no longer available which is a shame as it's a useful one!

Have a lovely weekend and see you again soon,

August Elemental - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

Back to normal this week after spending a week with my Mum which was lovely.  The boys and I had a wonderful day trip to Windsor on Monday as well.

As it's the first Friday of the month it is the elemental challenge over on the Daring Cardmakers.

I used A Touch of Blush collection from Katy Sue Designs to make this card and I used the bird cage, butterfly and flowers from the photo below.

Spring Is In The Air - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

It's been a hectic few days with the start of Ramadhan, the Islamic month of fasting.  I am really looking forward to the Easter holidays as it'll make things a lot easier having us all home.

The Daring Cardmakers has a Spring themed challenge this week as it is certainly in the air.  Having said that, I put my washing out yesterday as the sun was out and half an hour later it began raining!  Rain wasn't forecast until 6pm.

I used an older collection from Katy Sue Designs for my card as it's so pretty and has various florals and butterflies on it depicting Spring.

You can see what the rest of the Design Team have done HERE and hopefully join in.

See you next week!

Floral Frenzy - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

It feels like a long time since I did one of my Friday posts!  A very frosty start to the day, in fact it's been freezing here all week but thankfully no snow.

I have set the challenge for the Daring Cardmakers this week to use florals of any sort on your cards - the more the merrier!

I used a floral Hunkydory set for my Anniversary card, made a fancy fold and added some pearls to finish.

You can see lots more inspiration from the rest of the Design Team HERE and I hope you'll join in!  I also wanted to bring to your attention that we are after Guest DT members for our very friendly team so please do get in touch:

Fun & Games - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

It's getting a little chillier now and definitely darker in the mornings going to school.

The Daring Cardmakers have a Fun & Games themed challenge and luckily I had not 1 but 2 football themed commissions and I am sharing this one.

It was made with a mixture of new and old products from my stash (mostly old)!  I hadn't made a football themed card in ages so it was fun to do.

You can see lots more inspiration from the rest of the Design Team HERE and you'll see lots of variations on the theme.

Garden Bugs - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

It's been a busy week.  The highlight has definitely been watching my youngest son perform in the school play.

It's my turn to set the Daring Cardmakers challenge this week and as I seem to be spending so much time in the garden I thought I'd incorporate it.   It's the time of year when a variety of bugs visit gardens so I'd love to see which bugs are in yours!

I chose a number of bugs - a bee, ladybird, butterfly and even a spider! I loved creating the scene.  It's been a long time since I got my distress oxides out to create a background.

All the elements were stamped and coloured in with my Nuvo Alcohol pens and then die cut with the co-ordinating dies.  I also used the jar and the magnifying glass dies from the same set to complete my card.

You can see lots more inspiration from the rest of the Design Team HERE and I hope you join in!

Have a great weekend and see you again soon,

Everything's Coming Up Roses - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

The latter part of the week has been lovely - warm and sunny!  I hope it lasts over the weekend although I did see thunderstorms are forecast.

Did you know that roses are one of two birth flowers for the month of June?  Neither did I! Well, the Daring Cardmakers would love to see roses somewhere on your card.

I decided to use the Kanban A Touch of Blush collection.  Lots of roses on my card so I'm hoping for extra points from Joanne who thought up the challenge!

I love side stepper cards and Katy Sue has a set of mixed ones ready made so I didn't even need to get my score board out!

You can see lots more inspiration from the rest of the Design Team HERE and I hope you join in.

Have a lovely weekend whatever you get up to,

Just A Card June - Tonic Studios

Happy Wednesday!

Tonic Studios is promoting cardmaking throughout the month of June using different bundles they have on offer.  Today it's my turn to showcase cards I have made using the following bundles:

Springtime Bundle - UK and Europe or USA

White & Iridescent Bundle - UK and Europe or USA

I  was tasked to create 3 different cards using the bundles above for a new home, male birthday and female birthday.

The first card I decided to make was a shaker for a new home and you can see the step by step on the Tonic Studios craft blog HERE.

Next I made a female birthday card for which I used a die set and made it into a stencil.  You can see how to do it HERE on the Tonic Studios Craft Blog.

For my final card I made the papers the star of the background (no pun intended!).  I used chalk mousse to create the background for the star.  A step by step tutorial can be found on the Tonic Studios Craft Blog HERE.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my creations,

Bloom & Grow - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

We are two thirds of the way through our month of fasting and it's been bliss having no school runs.  Both boys are back to school next week though but it'll be Eid soon after.

Bloom and grow is the theme for this week's Daring Cardmaker's challenge and Dawn wants to know what we intend to plant in our gardens.  This was hard as I tend to plant bulbs and don't remember what I plant so it's a bit of a surprise!  Therefore, I have a variety of flowers on my card.

I made a double frame card using frames and floral decoupage from Katy Sue Designs which is on Create & Craft on Monday 17 April.

This is the front of the card which I opted to keep simple as the frame would be open on display.  I added space on the back for a message.

You can see lots more from inspiration from the Design Team HERE.

Delightful Daisies Card Creator - Tonic Studios Craft Kit 63 Launch

Happy Tuesday!

I don't know where the first 2 days of the school holidays have gone.  Thankfully the snow has melted and it's milder so we've managed to fit some outdoor activities in.

Being the 20th of the month, it is time for the launch of the latest Tonic Studios Craft Kit - the Delightful Daisies Card Creator.  There is a lot you can do with this Kit as it contains so many elements - stamps, dies, Nuvo products, cardstock, stamp pads, blender brushes etc. Here are my affiliate links:

UK and Europe: HERE

USA: HERE

For my first creation, I used the die to create a gatefold card.  It's so easy to do and I added other die cut elements.  Inside, I used the stamps from the kit and coloured in with my Nuvo Coloured Pencils.

For my second creation, once again all the dies and cardstock are from the Kit, I created a fun fold.  I used the Nuvo Glitter drops from the Kit to add some more decoration.

I think this may well be my last blog post before Christmas so I wanted to wish you all a very Merry Christmas.

See you next week,

Hello Spring! - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

After a good few weeks following the storms we finally got our fences repaired/replaced.  It was worth the wait and the garden looks so much better.  However, it'll mean I need to do some pruning at some point soon so the fence is seen more!

This Sunday sees the official first day of Spring so I thought why not make a challenge of it and I did!  The Daring Cardmakers would like to see anything Spring related on your cards this week.

I picked on the newly released Bunnies & Blooms Die Set by Tonic Studios and decided to use the dies in non traditional ways.  The card fits perfectly into an A7 sized envelope.  This is important to me as although I make my own envelopes it's so much easier using a ready made one!

In my mind I had a floral meadow with bunnies hopping through it so that's what I created!  I really loved making the card and added Nuvo Drops for a little sparkle.

You can see lots more inspiration from the rest of the Design Team HERE and I do hope you'll join in.

You may find me in the garden this weekend but only if the sun is out!

Spring Things - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

I'm glad it's Friday.  It's been a tiring old week and I feel in need of a break, I'm thinking somewhere warm and exotic....as if that'll happen anytime soon but a girl can dream!

This week the Daring Cardmakers are looking to see 'Spring Things' on your cards so anything associated with the season.  Of course the first thing I look out for as a sign of Spring are the daffodils that pop up in the garden so I thought I'd use my daffodil stamp.

I opted for watercolours as I fancied a change from my alcohol markers.  So I stamped the image and then used my water colour palette to add colour to the image.  I added a blue wash to the background as well.

I heat embossed the sentiment with white on black card and added a frame die cut to finish.  I think I can safely say I rose to the challenge!  You can see more inspiration from the rest of the Design Team HERE and a link to join in.

Keep It In The Family - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

I miss my family - a lot.  A hundred miles never seemed far but it feels like it at the moment.

It's International Family Day and that's the Daring Cardmakers theme for their challenge to celebrate our families near or far!  With this in mind I actually thought of my Mum when I made this card.  I think of both my parents daily but Mum in particular as we are fasting and I remember how much effort she used to put into making special meals for us when we were young.

I've used the Maggie Holmes 'Heritage' paper pad for my creation in celebration of my Mum.  I've used bright colours and flowers as they are her favourites.

I've matted and layered papers from the pad and fussy cut elements.  The only additions I made are for texture - so a little fabric and pearls finished it off nicely.

Lots more inspiration from the Design Team HERE.

Hope you'll join in and see you again on Sunday for a sneak peek of new releases from Time for Tea Designs.

Have a lovely day,

Clean & Simple With a Dash of Sparkle - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

It's odd as it doesn't seem like a Bank Holiday weekend does it?  The days really are all rolling into each other.  So, from a neighbourhood perspective we have been tasked to make an egg for our windows so the children can do an Easter Egg hunt.  That's on my to do list with the boys this morning.

Dawn has set the challenge for the Daring Cardmakers this week and she'd like to see clean and simple with some sparkle.

I must admit I wasn't sure about this one.  Now, I'm not afraid of white space on a card in the slightest but I was soooooo tempted to add a little bit more but then refrained!  I did use some products which I bought some time back and hadn't used so this was a good opportunity to use them.

I die cut a tag and then stamped clouds on it using distress oxide inks to give texture.  I then stamped, cut and coloured my birds using my Chameleon pens.  To finish I die cut a balloon heart from glitter card for the sparkle element and added some twine.

I hope you'll join in with this challenge this week and you can see lots more inspiration HERE.

See you again next week,

Bloom & Wonder Card & Envelope Set - Trimcraft Maker

Happy Tuesday!

Lots of crafting going on my end and I'm ready to share the first of my Trimcraft Maker projects using the brand new First Edition pad - Bloom and Wonder.

With this project, aside from the card blank and adhesives, I have only used the paper pad which just goes to show you don't necessarily need a lot of additions.  I even made a co-ordinating envelope using one of the papers with my WRMK Envelope Punch!

The paper pad contains sheets of sentiments and I cut out the 'Celebrate' and 'Hooray' ones for my card.  The flowers I fussy cut from another sheet and I stuck them on on using silicone glue so as to give dimension.

The paper pad itself contains some pearlescent sheets and some with glitter which I've tried to show in the photo above.

Here's the pad and - mine is a 12" x 12" but it also comes in 8" x 8" and 6" x 6".

See you again later in the week,

MAY Letters - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

I've had a full on craft week with a sprinkling of house work and lots of cooking!  I need to get into the garden and sort it out but so far haven't had the time.

For the Daring Cardmakers challenge this week, Kathy has chosen something different and wants us to choose elements beginning with the letters of the month of MAY.  I have chosen Moving for the M, Aqua for the A and Yellow for the Y.

I thought I'd get a little die cutting in this week so that's what I've done apart from the sentiment!  This card is going to wing it's way to a friend of mine who has recently moved and I made it with her in mind.

I'm demonstrating at The Range in Romford this Sunday from 11am if you're in the area it would be lovely to meet you!

A Moment In Time - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

Time really is running away at the moment especially as Ramadhan, the month of fasting, has begun for me.  Sylvia has set an apt Daring Cardmakers challenge this week!  She's gone with a time theme and you can use clocks, watches, an hour glass, or a time such as fairytale once upon a time or Victorian, swinging sixites, tea time, play time, work time or anything time related.

You know I don't have a single clock or time piece element in my stash.  I searched high and low so I decided to opt for a fairytale themed card as who doesn't like a happy ever after?!

The card is made using the Graphic 45 Princess collection and I've gone around the edges of the various papers with my scissors to give it a shabby chic feel.

The addition of a paper doily makes the focal image pop and I added a paper rose and leaves to embellish.  Graphic 45 do the most wonderful papers and embellishments and I actually find it difficult to cut into them!  This doesn't happen very often these days as I feel life is too short to save beautiful papers!

You can see lots more inspiration from my fellow design team members HERE and I hope you'll join in with the Challenge.

This weekend I'll be demonstrating with the latest Trimcraft collections at The Range in Luton on Sunday from 11am to 4pm.  If you are in the area or know someone who would like to come along please spread the word!

See you again next week,
