Shamrock Ovals Die Set - Tonic Studios

Happy Thursday!

I feel like it's been a while since I blogged and I'm sure it has been.  I've had a lot on and the blogging wasn't a priority but I am back!

Today I thought I'd share a couple of cards I made using the Shamrock Ovals Die Set from Tonic Studios.  My affiliate links, with thanks are here:

USA - HERE

A lovely die set that you can use in a number of ways.  For my first card I opted to make a gap card and cut the dies out in black then added stamped flowers and a sentiment.

I finished it off with some twine.  I opted to leave the flowers as they were with no colouring and I think it works well.

For my next card I die cut the ovals in different colours to compliment the Mulberry Wine Paper pad.  I layered the ovals in the middle and added my sentiment.

I added a fussy cut flower from the paper pad to finish.

See you again tomorrow,

Everyday Sentiment Stamp & Die Set - Tonic Studios Launch

Happy Thursday!

This week has zoomed by and the Cyber Week with Tonic Studios is still going strong all the way up until Monday.  Today's new release is a fabulous stamp and die set perfect for everyday use.  My affiliate links, should you choose to use them with thanks, are here:

UK & Europe - HERE

USA - HERE

Tonic Studios has also released a brand new printed 12"x12" square paper pad called Dusky Rose which I also took the liberty to show case.

For my first card I pleated the cardstock and added a contrasting strip across the top.  I finished by die cutting the Thank You sentiment from the set and added die cut flowers from the Set with Nuvo Drops in the centres.

I have a reel showing how to make this card on my instagram, simplyshabneez.  I used the tags from the paper pad as a base for my card and added gold embossed stamped words from the set together with the die cut Birthday.  The flowers and leaves from the set were die cut and added to finish the card off.

I hope you've enjoyed seeing my creations this week.

See you again soon,
Shabneez

Boots & Bouquets - Tonic Studios Craft Kit Launch

Happy Monday!

Being the 20th of the month it is the release of the latest monthly craft kit by Tonic Studios.  The Craft Kit this month has a beautiful stamp and die set together with other products including alcohol pens.  My affiliate links are here:

UK and Europe - HERE

USA - HERE

My first card is a slimline one.  I only used the alcohol pens from the Kit to colour in my image which I then die cut with the co-ordinating die.  I die cut the little frames from the Kit and paper pieced some of the flowers.  I do love the colour combination in the Kit.

For my next card I picked a patterned paper from my stash and coloured the image using similar colours.  I kept the background simple so the image would pop on the card.  I added glossy accents to the boot this time.

It's a really pretty die set with sentiments for a variety of occasions that go so well with the image.  You can see a colouring video and an unboxing on my instagram (simplyshabneez).

See you again tomorrow for another new launch!

Have A Prickly Summer - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

Week one of the summer holidays was fun and a lot of it was due to the good weather we have been having - so lots of outdoor fun.

Over on the Daring Cardmakers, Miri has set the challenge this week and an apt one for this time of year.  She wants to see a cactus or cacti on your cards this week.  For me this meant using a freebie stamp from a magazine that I hadn't used before.  It's good when free stamps actually get utilised.  I also realised that I hadn't shared any of my teacher cards this time round and so I made one especially for the challenge that I can keep in my box for next year being as my boys broke up for the summer last week.

This time I used my Catherine Pooler ink pads to create a simple watercolour background and colour in the image using my waterbrush.  I think it's quite effective, don't you?  You can see lots more inspiration from my fellow DT members HERE and I hope you'll join in.

I'm having a catch up with work this weekend as I have spent a lot of time with the boys during the week so have fallen behind a little.  At least it'll give their Dad a chance to spend some quality time with them!

Have a wonderful weekend whatever you do,
Shabneez

Thanks! - Daring Cardmakers Challenge

Happy Friday!

It's been another mad week but I've accomplished almost all I set out to do so I'm happy!  School holidays have begun and we've just been to see 'Rogue One'.  All three men, big and small, are Star Wars fans and I must admit I do like a good Star Wars film but I won't ruin it for those of you who are going to see it.

'Thanks' is the theme for this week's Daring Cardmakers Challenge. It's an apt challenge for me as I've got a number of thank you cards to send to family and friends following my recent birthday.

I've often said I like collections which go together so I don't have to think as hard about co-ordinating colours and embellishments etc especially if time is limited. Doodlebug do a range of essential packs which contain papers, stickers, embellishments and an alphabet sheet. The papers are all double sided and the only additional item I used was the pink card which I diecut into a circle.

Although the glitter alphabet were stickers, I used silicone glue to give a little additional dimension. A simple but colourful make. I do love my bright colours.

I hope you'll join in with the challenge here where there's a lot more inspiration from the Design Team.

May the Force be with you!
