Spectacular Stackables - Tonic Studios Launch

Happy Thursday!

I'm sharing a new Create & Make launch from Tonic Studios of the Spectacular Stackables Die Set.  My affiliate links can be found here, with thanks:

USA: http://shrsl.com/4koow

I made a Father's Day gift set with mine as you can see above.

The actual stackables come apart easily and you can make them as tall or short as you like.  I went for an ombre effect with my colours going from light to dark in shades of blue and I added highlights in silver mirri card.

The card is a quick and simple one using the dies from the set with the addition of a stamped sentiment to finish.

See you again soon,

June Elemental - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

It's been a while since I joined in with the Daring Cardmakers and today is the June elemental challenge.  As Father's Day is coming up, I thought I'd make a card for it.

I used the Tonic Studios Marvellous Mosaic & Hexagons Die Set to create the base and the hexagonal cut outs.  It's such a versatile die set.  I used the Love To Craft High Tide paper pad for all the images.

I stamped the sentiment on another of the hexagons to finish.

From the image which you can see HERE, I used the colours, lighthouse and boat.  You can also see lots more inspiration from the rest of the DT and a link to join in!

See you again next week,

Bulbs & Bolts Collection - Tonic Studios New Launch

Happy Weekend!

I didn't get a chance to blog about the latest new release from Tonic Studios on Thursday but I thought I really should share what I have made!

My affiliate links with thanks:

USA - HERE

I absolutely loved this set.  The stamp set has so many puns which go really well with both the tools and the bulbs in the die set.

I was tasked with making Father's Day cards and so for my first card I spelt out 'DAD' with the tools and added one of the sentiments from the set.

For my second card I made a space themed background then added my die cut bulbs and googly eyes.  Googly eyes make me smile and I loved the sentiment from the stamp set that I used.  The 'special father' was from another new stamp set which I have referenced below.

You know, my Dad would have loved these cards.  He was always my largest fan and we both used to love giggling over puns.

See you again tomorrow for another new release!

Father's Day Art - Time for Tea Designs DT

Happy Wednesday!

With Father's Day not far away I thought I'd share a little inspiration by showing you what I made for my Dad, predominantly using Time for Tea Design products.

The wonderful Crafty Cats Stamp and Die set has provided me with the inspiration for this one as it has an easel on it so I thought I'd make a novelty easel card for a bit of fun!  All the elements were stamped, coloured with my Chameleon pens and die cut.

For the mini easel, I masked off the image inside it so I had a blank canvas (pun intended!!!).  I began by using the Splish Splash stencil to make the splatter for which the new Time for Tea Designs small blender brush worked a treat!  Next, I stamped the 'Happy' from the Bee Happy stamp set and 'Father's Day' from another.  I added glossy accents where appropriate.

The easel card base was made from a square kraft card from which I cut a section out using the Hello Nesting Rectangle die set.  I stamped over it with a woodgrain stamp.

I used the same stencil again for the mess on the floor which I'm sure I would make if I painted like that.  If only you knew the mess I got into just papercrafting!!!!  As ever, you can get 10% off anything in the Time for Tea Designs store using my code T4TSHABNEEZ10 at no cost to myself.

See you again on Friday!

Secret Hideaway - Daring Cardmakers Challenge

Happy Friday!

How's your week been?  Half term is in full swing here although it's finishing off homework this morning while Mummy gets her blog post sorted - ha!!!  I'm trying to prepare for Eid which marks the end of the month of fasting as well but not had much luck so far......

Joanne has set the challenge for the Daring Cardmakers this week and she would like to see a card with a hidden element.  This could be an eclipse card, adding a pocket, using a flap etc.  You know this challenge got me thinking as I'd never made an eclipse card so I thought I'd take the opportunity to have a go!

I used my Create & Craft free May members's gift for the bulk of it as the Ocean Secrets papers pad has elements that can be used as toppers.

Here in the close up you can see how I used alphabet dies to cut out the letters and added extra dimension not by using foam pads but simply by die cutting extra layers of letters and layering them to give the subtle dimension required.

I'll definitely be making more of these cards now that I've seen how effective they are and I hope I've inspired you to have a go too!  You can see lots of different types of secreta hideaway cards made by the rest of the Design Team HERE.

My Trimcraft demos are continuing and I will be at The Range in Enfield this Sunday from 11am.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Cards for Dad with CrafTangles

Happy Thursday!

A very rainy start to the day but I'm up on the CrafTangles blog HERE with a trio of cards perfect for Dads.  You could use these stamp sets for birthdays or Father's Day which is coming up soon in the UK.

These cards were all created using the Father related stamp sets brought out recently.  For my first card I added a touch of glitter with a little washi tape and alphabet lettering.

I do like the sentiment which has become quite popular over the years.  I used my Zig pens to colour the image, fussy cut it and adhered it to the pretty plaid papers.

For my next card after colouring in the image, I masked it and used my distress oxides to make a background.  I added sentiments and a little paper to set it off.

For my final card I used a stamp set that could actually be used for anyone providing the percentages apply of course!

I liked the quirky dictionary style of the word Dad in this stamp set.  I added stitched banner dies and backed with pretty plaid paper.

I hope to see you again tomorrow, I have a card ready but need to write my blog post!

Celebrating Father's Day with CrafTangles DT

Happy Tuesday!

I've got my debut post for CrafTangles over on their blog together with a tutorial.

Well, it's not long now until Father's Day and you can never have too many Father's Day cards can you?! I loved the image of the child and father on this stamp set so decided to use it in two different ways.

For the first card, I embossed and inked the stamp giving it a negative effect, using a stencil to add interest.

For the second I went for the vintage look and gave the card a distressed look.

I love how you can give the same stamp a totally different look just by altering colours and products used.

See you again on Friday!
