April Elemental Challenge - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

It's been a quiet week as my youngest has gone on a 'holiday' to my Aunt's house.  He loves it there as he cooks with her and my cousin has been entertaining him so they've been out and about.

As it's the first Friday of the month it is the Elemental Challenge over on the Daring Cardmakers and I've been inspired by the photo Dawn picked to make a card for one of my niece's upcoming birthdays.

I used the Tonic Studios 'I love you fairy much' stamp club set.  It's an older set but I love the die set that comes with it as it has such a pretty frame which I die cut in white.  I placed it over a distressed oxide background I created.

I stamped a fairy and a toadstool image out then coloured in with my Nuvo Alcohol markers.  I added a Nuvo clear gloss to the toadstool and a glitter gloss to the fairy wings to finish.

This is the photo Dawn chose and I have picked the colours, toadstool and foliage as my 3 elements.  You can see lots more inspiration from the rest of the Design Team HERE.

I hope you have a wonderful Bank Holiday Weekend and I'll see you again soon,

So Grateful For You - Time for Tea Designs DT

Happy Weekend!

Time for Tea Designs has a new release which came out yesterday.  It is huge and has a mix of everyday and Christmas products.  Today I'm showcasing a combination of the new release stamp sets - the Background Stamp and the All Occasion Critter Stamp to form a cute scene. It's definitely somewhere I'd love to live as it looks so idyllic!

I used the Circle of Love dies to make my circular Easel card.  Next, I stamped and masked the Background Scene stamp and used the Sunnyside Up stencil as the backdrop.

I coloured in the background using a mix of Chameleon pens and Distress Oxide ink pads to form a scene.  I then went on to die cut the rabbit and bees from the All Occasion Critters stamp.  After colouring them in I adhered them to my scene.

A frame from the mini frame & border die set was cut and used as a stopper for my easel card.

You can see and purchase all the new releases HERE and don't forget to use my code T4TSHABNEEZ10 for a 10% saving on anything in store!

The latest Christmas releases will be on Create & Craft on Monday at 4.30pm.  I've a number of samples to share so watch this space!

Enjoy your weekend!

You Bake My Day! - Time for Tea Designs DT

Happy July!

The garden looks a lot more lush after the rain and our roses are in full bloom.  The cooler weather has meant more productivity from a work perspective too!

In keeping with the baking theme from last week's post, I just had to share the cutest new release from Time for Tea Designs today.  It's the Bake My Day A7 stamp and die set and it co-ordinates perfectly as an add on to the Baked With Love set.

I used a couple of stencils to make the background blending with distress oxides and added the same colours to the sentiment.  All the stamped images were coloured using my Chamelon pens.

There are 2 very innovative features with the co-ordinating die set.  The first is that the oven door is hinged so actually opens and you can see I have it slightly ajar with my cherry pie baking inside - it's just sooo cute!  The second feature is the die set also cuts the arms so that the mouse can hold something in his hands and mine is holding a rather delicious looking cupcake!

As ever, you can get 10% off everything in the Time for Tea Designs Store HERE using the code T4TSHABNEEZ10 and I recommend the co-ordinating dies with this stamp set for the novelty features they give.

I hope to see you again later in the week but no promises this time!

The Bees & the Lily - Time for Tea Design DT

Happy Wednesday!

Time for Tea Designs is having a sneak peek week as the June Release is on sale from 9am on Friday 19th June.

I've used 3 of the new stamps on my card: the versatile Squiggly Giggly A7 stamp, the Buzzing for You A7 Stamp & Die set and the Thinking of You Lily A7 Stamp set.  There are a number of die sets in the release and a lot more stamps that you'll see throughout the week and on the FB Live at 8pm with Jo tomorrow.

I've been spending so much time in the garden lately and alongside my little one, we've been looking at the activity of bees and how they collect pollen etc.  So I decided to bring the outside in and use both the lily and the bee stamps together on a card!

I actually used Distress Oxides to not only stamp my background but also colour in the bees and the lily.  I'd used Distress Inks often to colour in but never Oxides and it was only after watching a Tim Holtz FB Live that I saw it was a good medium to use so I did!

I love the soft pastels on the card and the distress oxides helped create it.  Lilies are one of my favourite flowers - they have such a wonderful scent too.

See you again soon!

The Present Fairy - Time for Tea Designs DT

Happy Wednesday!

Well, the sun is out and we're on lunch break from home schooling so I thought I'd better write up my blog post as lunch isn't ready yet - it's still in the oven baking!

The Time for Tea Design Fairy set is out again and this time I decided to create a magical background so went with pink for the clouds using the Sunnyside Up stencil through the Small Rectangle Stencil with Distress Oxide Inks and my blender brush.

This poor little fairy was carrying far too many presents and dropped a couple - well it can't be easy when you've only got wings to keep you up can it?!

I used my Chameleon Markers together with the Colour Tops to colour in the all the stamped images and then fussy cut them, adding a spot of glitter glue in parts.  I stamped the sentiment from the same set and added the really cute exclamation mark.

I couldn't resist adding the cupcake as you can't have a birthday without cake can you?!  As usual, 10% off anything off the Time for Tea Designs site HERE using my code T4TSHABNEEZ10.

I'm not sure that I'll be back later in the week, if not stay safe until next time!

CrafTangles August 2018 Blog Hop - Glimmer Paste

Happy Thursday!

The August Blog Hop is underway on the CrafTangles Blog HERE and it's all about glimmer paste!

I have to admit I had a lot of fun playing with this medium and using it in different ways.  I love anything that sparkles as you know so this was right up my street!

For my first card I decided to use a black base that I sprayed with a shimmer mist.  I then used the glimmer paste through the cloud stencil.  As you can see, it dried with a green tint on the black even though it went on white.  I stamped my image and used a couple of my new chameleon pens to colour in the bear then stamped the sentiment on a black card mat.

For my second card, I used the exact same fairy dust glimmer paste as my first card above.  This time through a different stencil to give the impression of waves on a distressed ink backing I created.  You can see how the tint of green that was so apparent on the black is much more subtle and there is more of the white.  Once again I used my chameleon pens on the stamped and fussy cut image and added a sentiment before mounting on to a die cut mat.

For my final card I smooshed distress oxides for the background then added green and orange glimmer paste through stencils.  I added dots to finish and stamped the sentiment before mounting on to a black card base.

I hope you can see just some of the ways glimmer paste can be used as highlights, backgrounds and a focal point.

If you are on the blog hop then here are the other blogs you need to visit in order to win one of 2 goody bags!  Good luck!

Cards for Dad with CrafTangles

Happy Thursday!

A very rainy start to the day but I'm up on the CrafTangles blog HERE with a trio of cards perfect for Dads.  You could use these stamp sets for birthdays or Father's Day which is coming up soon in the UK.

These cards were all created using the Father related stamp sets brought out recently.  For my first card I added a touch of glitter with a little washi tape and alphabet lettering.

I do like the sentiment which has become quite popular over the years.  I used my Zig pens to colour the image, fussy cut it and adhered it to the pretty plaid papers.

For my next card after colouring in the image, I masked it and used my distress oxides to make a background.  I added sentiments and a little paper to set it off.

For my final card I used a stamp set that could actually be used for anyone providing the percentages apply of course!

I liked the quirky dictionary style of the word Dad in this stamp set.  I added stitched banner dies and backed with pretty plaid paper.

I hope to see you again tomorrow, I have a card ready but need to write my blog post!
