Sweet Honeypot Die Set - Tonic Studios Launch

I hope you've all been having a good break over the festive season.  We've all been having turns with coughs and colds in our household as it seems to be the time of year for them.

The Honeypot is really easy to put together and makes a good size gift box.  There are elements to embellish it with including a tag, bees and die cuts for the sides too.

I opted to decorate mine with bee themed papers and flowers from another Tonic Studios die set.  I coloured the bees in with Nuvo alcohol markers.

Summer Drinks - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

I can't believe a week of the summer holidays has already flown by.  It's been great having the boys home and I don't miss those school runs one bit!!

The Daring Cardmakers are in a summery mood and would like to see summer drinks on your cards this week.  I opted for a glass of refreshing orange juice with ice!

I absolutely love this stamp and die set as it's perfect for this time of year with the fruits in season and the cold drinks needed!

I stamped and die cut all my fruits and the drink then arranged them on my background.  I love the puns on the set too!

Garden Bugs - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

It's been a busy week.  The highlight has definitely been watching my youngest son perform in the school play.

It's my turn to set the Daring Cardmakers challenge this week and as I seem to be spending so much time in the garden I thought I'd incorporate it.   It's the time of year when a variety of bugs visit gardens so I'd love to see which bugs are in yours!

I chose a number of bugs - a bee, ladybird, butterfly and even a spider! I loved creating the scene.  It's been a long time since I got my distress oxides out to create a background.

All the elements were stamped and coloured in with my Nuvo Alcohol pens and then die cut with the co-ordinating dies.  I also used the jar and the magnifying glass dies from the same set to complete my card.

Birds of a Feather - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

It's all go here as we prepare for Eid tomorrow.  To be honest I'm not looking forward to it as it will be the first one without my Dad and he's always been a big part of the day for us.  My eldest made some doughnuts last night to take into school for his friends.

The Daring Cardmakers would like to see anything feather related on your cards this week.  I had fun with this one as when I was creating it as it was very sunny.

It felt good getting the bright colours out and this stamp set is a favourite of mine.  I used the Nuvo alcohol pens to colour in the flamingos.

The background was created using a stencil and distress oxide inks.  I love the sentiment so had to make the card fit it!

April Elemental Challenge - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

It's been a quiet week as my youngest has gone on a 'holiday' to my Aunt's house.  He loves it there as he cooks with her and my cousin has been entertaining him so they've been out and about.

As it's the first Friday of the month it is the Elemental Challenge over on the Daring Cardmakers and I've been inspired by the photo Dawn picked to make a card for one of my niece's upcoming birthdays.

I used the Tonic Studios 'I love you fairy much' stamp club set.  It's an older set but I love the die set that comes with it as it has such a pretty frame which I die cut in white.  I placed it over a distressed oxide background I created.

I stamped a fairy and a toadstool image out then coloured in with my Nuvo Alcohol markers.  I added a Nuvo clear gloss to the toadstool and a glitter gloss to the fairy wings to finish.

October Elemental Challenge 2022 - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

How was your week?  It was a busy one for me again and I'm definitely looking forward to the weekend.

It was our wedding anniversary earlier in the week and I made this card for my husband.  It just so happened to have all the elements needed for this week's Daring Cardmakers October Elemental Challenge too!

I began with the brick background which I created using a stencil and distress oxide inks.  I then stamped and coloured in the fungi, die cut the foliage and the stone and coloured them in.

To finish I stamped a couple of dragonflies and heat embossed my sentiment.

Here is the mood board from which you need to pick any 3 elements (colours count as 1).  I chose the fungi, bricks and circles.

Less Is More - Daring Cardmakers DT

It's been wonderful weather this week which is great as the boys have begun their summer holidays!  

The Daring Cardmakers want to see clean and simple cards this week so I had to have a bit of a think as it's been a while since I did one of those!

I used the latest Tonic Studios stamp club set - Aloha Paradise together with my Nuvo alcohol pens to colour the images in.  I used a couple of die cuts to add to the background.

For the mocktails I used some Nuvo Clear Drops to make it look fluid although it's a little hard to see in the photograph.

My Sweet Valentine - Daring Cardmakers DT

Happy Friday!

So I am pleased to report after 2 consecutive negative tests my little one went back to school on Tuesday only to find out that it's half term next week! 

With Valentine's Day coming up the Daring Cardmakers want to see your cards for the occasion.  I must admit I am not one to wait for Valentine's Day to tell someone I love them!  I loved creating this card though as it's a mix of paper and stamps - my favourite combination!

I started out with the Tonic Studios Loveable Library collection and used the typewriter die and a few stamps.

I then used the papers from the First Edition Making Memories pad to add a little more interest.
